stand up for Damien, publicly decry those who slander him, point out how he was so well loved just a little while ago, and he was one of the most well loved politicians in the country. Then Cosland issues such a disgusting and cowardly ultimatum just as one of the few politicians conceivably capable of uniting the people against them is put at the centre pf scandal. Basically, insinuate that it's all slander by Cosland and Cosland sympathisers.Try and implicate the political enemies of both me and Damien as the culprits.

Also, offer to meet a Cosland representative, talk for a little while (on camera) then punch him to the ground and shout him out with cries of Beruland belonging to the Beru and how we will never again submit to the people of Cosland. Spit on him. Try and make sure that any audience is pro-me.

Taricus and Heap. You just made enemies with the Antichrist. Exactly how smart do you think that is?

Please, if this goes through well, you won't be anything but an ant in the grand scheme of things. And hey, we'll be getting support from the general populace too, so we're also ensuring our re-election.

To be fair, considering they're going to kill us all, I really doubt an insult or two is going to matter :P

I apologize for the bit of a delay this turn, but real life must always take precedence over recreation. I've finally got a night to myself so turns will be going out tonight.  :D

National News

Politics this month has been marked by division, far from the hopeful predictions heralded by the formation of the BPP, instead the Free Democratic party has formed in direct opposition preaching small efficient government, personal liberties, and the importance of the government having as little an effect on the economy as possible. The leader of the party is the well-known Benesuto Acciano of the Acciano family, the owners of one of the largest trust's in Beruland.

The controversy over representative Damien Thorne has started more than a simple debate over pedophilia and accusations of occultism, but has grown to a nationwide political battle between two groups, the Nationalists and Internationalists. The Nationalists led by Salvador Mamali have risen in stunning support of Thorne and have blamed Cosland for the accusations stating it as an attempt to foment political unrest in Beruland to their benefit. The enigmatic leader even went so far as to punch the Coslandian ambassador on live television to a enraptured crowd. The internationalists however, led by the eccentric Joseph Bridger, have begun to preach increased acceptance and pluralism within Beruland and Bridger himself has accused Mamali as being a Supremacist and war-monger. With the nation so sharply divided, riots have begun to break out on the streets between supporters of the two sides.

Cosland is in an uproar today as demands for retribution are trumpeted far and wide by every newspaper in Cosland to everyone who will care to listen. Cosland has demanded today an official apology by Representative Mamali or it will be forced to end all foreign aid and forbid the exportation of grain and other foods to Beruland. Filandy, ever watchful for a reason to oppose Cosland, has reaffirmed its support of Beruland stating it will attempt to make up for any shortage a blockade from Cosland may cause.

Some evidence of the forgery of evidence against Thorne has been discovered by official today when, after receiving a tip from an anonymous source, police searched Adam Bradley's residence. In the opinion of forensic specialists however they believe it is quite obvious the evidence was planted, but the damage has already been done in the public's eyes and opinion of Bradley has dropped.

((Scap, don't be afraid. I got 0 speech skill so there's no ride-on or loopholes within that bill, because I cannot do that at all :P ))

BPP Party voting. Italics denote a concious vote. Otherwise all votes are along party lines (Sven's votes are assumed to be along these lines)

FOR
Beruland Equality Act By Representative Olafsson - Proposes a system of welfare and assistance for the poor and unemployed

Beruland Futures Act By Representative Olafsson - Establishes a state-run system of primary and secondary schools as well as schooling subsidies and scholarships. In addition it includes legislation to render child-labor illegal and punishable by a ten-year jail sentence and seizure of all assets.

Reshaping Justice Act By Representative Bridger - Reforms the justice system to focus upon reformation rather than punishment.

ABSTAIN

Criminal Organizations Act By Representative Markus - Triples penalties for all organized crime related offenses.

AGAINST

Military-Industrial Infrastructure Act By Representative Acciano - Proposes improvement of government railroads and limited access roads for military and government contractor use.
(Due to party alignment rather than actual politics)

House Inquiry into the Finances of Subversive Elements by Representative Mamali - Proposes the house be given the power to hold official inquiry into the finances of everyone who is deemed a subversive influence within Beruland.

House Salary Increase An increase of 500$ to House Representatives quarterly income.

House Response to the Coslandian Ultimatum - Free-form Vote: ((Will be RPed out rather than actioned at this point. Will edit in one afterwards. Needless to say this will involve shit being slung, and maybe a parlimentary brawl. RP can also change the BPP's stance on a bill or two, so make it good people ;) ))

Sven's actions.
Argue for the Beruland Equality Act
Argue for the Beruland Futures Act
Argue for the Reshaping Justice Act

Argue against the House Salary Increase
Argue against the House Inquiry into the Finances of Subversive Elements, stating that the "Subversive elements" part pretty much includes EVERY non-berulander, and that Mamali is trying to subvert the democratic process himself with this bill.

On second though the Coslandian Ultimatum seems more effectively managed as an RP session following the normal voting, I've changed it to such

Jbg, you're welcome. If anyone wants a transcript of what im pmed to me, just let me know. It is fucking brilliant.

EDIT: My turn.

Before I do pm one of my actions, I need to know the history of Beruland and Filandy.
But anyway, the way I'm voting:

Beruland Equality Act By Representative Olafsson - Proposes a system of welfare and assistance for the poor and unemployed
For!
Beruland Futures Act By Representative Olafsson - Establishes a state-run system of primary and secondary schools as well as schooling subsidies and scholarships. In addition it includes legislation to render child-labor illegal and punishable by a ten-year jail sentence and seizure of all assets.
For! (Argue for it as well.)
Criminal Organizations Act By Representative Markus - Triples penalties for all organized crime related offenses.
For!
Reshaping Justice Act By Representative Bridger - Reforms the justice system to focus upon reformation rather than punishment.
Abstain.
Military-Industrial Infrastructure Act By Representative Acciano - Proposes improvement of government railroads and limited access roads for military and government contractor use.
Abstain.
House Inquiry into the Finances of Subversive Elements by Representative Mamali - Proposes the house be given the power to hold official inquiry into the finances of everyone who is deemed a subversive influence within Beruland
Argue For It! Publicly out Adam Bradley as the Cosland puppet behind the accusations, show my evidence, say that this bill is to ensure that this cannot happen.
House Salary Increase An increase of 500$ to House Representatives quarterly income.
Against.
