Yet it was fun for both of us since we could adjust the playing handicap by simply allowing me first placement of a few extra beans

It is somewhat how you do it. Someone who is a good player will generally place three stones and someone not very good will place five.

IIRC, rule of thumb is 1 extra stone per 1 kyu of difference for a balanced match.

Is there a Bay12 room or something on KGS for people to play? I'd love to play with some people from here.

I'd make one if enough people actually played on KGS :(

If you are on KGS or another server, state it.

AI factory made a Go game that you can play against AI. It may be only for mobile devices tough. But it's free.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

Sweet! Also, there is a go scoring app in development. You take a picture of a go board and it scores it. I does the counting for Japanese rules a little wrong though.

This is definitely the best Go tutorial on the internet, and I've looked at a lot. Seriously, it's almost as good as having a tutor. You should add it to the first post.

I second this, I used it a long time ago, and it's very good at teaching the basics.

And how many Kyu for the difference between a pro and a non-pro? :P

Kyu, as shown in the tutorial Yannath and I recommend starts at 50, going down, but then you reach Dan after 1 Kyu, and it goes up.

I believe legitimate professionals have their own rankings within Dan. Like, being 2 Dan pro is better than 4 Dan, but don't take that as official, all I know is Kyu upgrades into Dan, not about the real professional rankings.

Sweet, that's one, I'll probably make one if we can get at least 5 people.

Anyone interested in learning? I can teach a bit.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.
