Okay, we have 8 players now. Sign ups are closed :D. You could still sign up in case someone drops out in the first round or so I guess


IMPORTANT STUFF:

I still need GUNIANRUNININEUNAUN's char codes. I sent a pm, so this should be solved soon.

Expansion level: Two people do not own HotS (Heart of the Swarm) so any match played against them will be played at WoL (Wings of Liberty) expansion level. This can be changed in the options menu. If both players own the expansion they can choose what they want. If players disagree -> Wings of Liberty.

We can also just make all games WoL level. If anyone prefers that please say so.

If your SC2 name is different from your Bay12 name, please say your name at the start of each match, for those who are watching the replay. Also state your current score if you can be bothered :P.

When a match (best of 3, 5, or 7) ends, the victor will post the results and a link to the replays in this thread. Sending a pm to me that you finished would also be appreciated.  The loser will confirm the results. No replays and the loser does not agree -> Rematch.

If you do not know how to find and upload the replays you Google it, or ask the loser to do it.

All you need is a unit with detection. Widow mines die pretty fast, so you don't have to worry about their shot (or just send a cheap unit to make them waste their shot, then move in and kill them)

Willsauce is working on it. The bracket is semi-ready. I will sent everyone a pm with their opponent post here again when I actually do start this though.

I actually have no idea what to think of the widow mine. The RNG doesn't think I should kill Terrans, so I only played a few of them since the expansion came out.

As Terran, detection is a tough thing to come by. Your best bet is having a Raven, but those things are so gas heavy to incorporate into a build, and takes long enough that your opponent will have pumped out plenty of widow mines before you have it up. Second is having a turret nearby, which while economical for bases, sometimes just doesn't happen with expos and never happens in the field. And I know there's ComStats, but that's 270 minerals from a MULE you're giving up, so I'd rather not.

And on top of all that, you really won't know there's a widow mine in a particular spot until it's taken a healthy bite out of your mineral line or marines. Bottom line, scary .

EDIT: And don't get me started on Tempests. They seem like Guardians from SC1 with an AIR ATTACK.

You can play several in a row that way. I forget the name, but could look it up if you wanted something like that. Or I could livestream it and do that commentary thing. Either way.

I was thinking of letting everyone just decide on a time and date themselves, as I've never had an online multiplayer session where everyone actually showed up.
I will definitely think of doing something like this once we get down to 4 players. And are you offering to livestream and comment on matches ? That would be awesome! You know the amount of matches will be 34-60 right ?
