((opportunities for player input missed:
looting the encampment (they probably had food and supplies stockpiled there, it would make sense to steal what we could),
mid-battle tactics(it looked like the fight could have been broken into three rounds (bait round, first combat round, second combat round)),
brother going insane (do WE kill him for stabbing his brother? i wouldn't have given us players a chance to stop the stabbing itself, but we might want to react to it. also we never got a chance to attempt to provide medical aid to the older brother (doomed, but Erin at least WOULD try).),
brother's suicide attempt (do we stop him? it's not all that easy to kill yourself instantly, and with that little speech of his we should have been able to see what was coming before he stabbed himself).
trouble visualizing:
little to no input as to the terrain we're in. what is it made of? what does it look like? what are the ambient noises, crickets, the wind, and suchlike. what are the cliff edges made of? how sheer are they? is it realistically possible to grab something if you fall off? are there plants growing in the area? how healthy are they? what about the encampment? what materials is it made of? how big is it? is there a cooking fire or remenants of one? how many structures are in it? do the structures have windows? other than the buildings and cliffs, how flat is the terrain? is it perfectly level, or rolling hills, or steep slopes up and down? is the ground beneath us grassy, dirt, gravel, sand, concrete, large rocks, fallen trees, mud, or some other surface? how much water is around? are there streams, ponds, or other such terrain visible from where we are? what about at the cliff bottoms? is it greener or more barren down there? are there any visible remains of 21st century society around? broken cars, soda cans, or other such things littering the area? how hot/cold is it? how humid is it? are there distinctive smells around? like the smell of animal poo or of the sea.
little to no input as to the relative positions of people. where was i between me darting to the right and diving the gamma? what was nectarius doing? how far did the fight occur from the cliff edges? how far were the cliff edges from the shack? why on earth would someone chase me off a cliff when i can fly?
minimal descriptions of the mutants involved, although the brothers were described well, and so was the gamma, there is little to describe what the three escorting the gamma were like, nor the prisoners. in fact, we still dont know how many prisoners were being held there.
a gm almost NEVER answers all these questions, the lists i gave you just now are excessive, and trying to answer all of them would just plain take forever. but the more you answer, the better the visual your players can draw from your descriptions
oh, and i'm hanging on to the keys to our cells, although they arn't listed in my inventory. i want to keep them for later.
now then, having posted that giant wall of suggestions, you're doing just fine, dont be too hard on yourself. the only reason you're getting so much feedback is because you're asking for advice. you're doing better than many at this.))
"Dont maim the corpse, the village isn't far and they might want confirmation of these brothers fates, they also might have specific burial rites for them. we can ask the villagers for food, shelter, and information. someone help carry him, he's kinda heavy"
take the parts pouch from Yern's body and one of the axes, before carrying the body to the village
