"These people are weird. And they said the word 'Qz', so I don't think it's a good idea to do what they say. Luckily, they're gone now, so we should be good. For now. Unless they put some horrible curse on us."

Slice off some tasty bits from Yern. Have lunch. Oh, and empty his part pouch into mine.

Kira mused on that notion. "I believe its a language, Gibberish I think?

"Anyway, best be off. I believe everyone who doesn't have a suitable, lethal adaptation or power should wield a weapon of some sort."

"Well... that was unexpected,"

((Yeah, I wanted to emphasize the violence of the future world. Too much emphasis? :-\ Also, I rustled around all my drawers and found my old Dungeon Master for Dummies book and an old thesaurus. Hopefully my future posts will be more descriptive and easier to understand.  :P))

((Not too much emphasis but the...I'm not sure how to say it; lack of emphasis, I suppose? Personally, I'm not well with superficial details, but I guess it went like such.))

((opportunities for player input missed:
looting the encampment (they probably had food and supplies stockpiled there, it would make sense to steal what we could),
mid-battle tactics(it looked like the fight could have been broken into three rounds (bait round, first combat round, second combat round)),
brother going insane (do WE kill him for stabbing his brother? i wouldn't have given us players a chance to stop the stabbing itself, but we might want to react to it. also we never got a chance to attempt to provide medical aid to the older brother (doomed, but Erin at least WOULD try).),
brother's suicide attempt (do we stop him? it's not all that easy to kill yourself instantly, and with that little speech of his we should have been able to see what was coming before he stabbed himself).

trouble visualizing:
little to no input as to the terrain we're in. what is it made of? what does it look like? what are the ambient noises, crickets, the wind, and suchlike. what are  the cliff edges made of? how sheer are they? is it realistically possible to grab something if you fall off? are there plants growing in the area? how healthy are they? what about the encampment? what materials is it made of? how big is it? is there a cooking fire or remenants of one? how many structures are in it? do the structures have windows? other than the buildings and cliffs, how flat is the terrain? is it perfectly level, or rolling hills, or steep slopes up and down? is the ground beneath us grassy, dirt, gravel, sand, concrete, large rocks, fallen trees, mud, or some other surface? how much water is around? are there streams, ponds, or other such terrain visible from where we are? what about at the cliff bottoms? is it greener or more barren down there? are there any visible remains of 21st century society around? broken cars, soda cans, or other such things littering the area? how hot/cold is it? how humid is it? are there distinctive smells around? like the smell of animal poo or of the sea.

little to no input as to the relative positions of people. where was i between me darting to the right and diving the gamma? what was nectarius doing? how far did the fight occur from the cliff edges? how far were the cliff edges from the shack? why on earth would someone chase me off a cliff when i can fly?

minimal descriptions of the mutants involved, although the brothers were described well, and so was the gamma, there is little to describe what the three escorting the gamma were like, nor the prisoners. in fact, we still dont know how many prisoners were being held there.

a gm almost NEVER answers all these questions, the lists i gave you just now are excessive, and trying to answer all of them would just plain take forever. but the more you answer, the better the visual your players can draw from your descriptions

oh, and i'm hanging on to the keys to our cells, although they arn't listed in my inventory. i want to keep them for later.

now then, having posted that giant wall of suggestions, you're doing just fine, dont be too hard on yourself. the only reason you're getting so much feedback is because you're asking for advice. you're doing better than many at this.))

"Dont maim the corpse, the village isn't far and they might want confirmation of these brothers fates, they also might have specific burial rites for them. we can ask the villagers for food, shelter, and information. someone help carry him, he's kinda heavy"

take the parts pouch from Yern's body and one of the axes, before carrying the body to the village

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

((What Lenglon says is true. While you're new, you commit yourself to improvement. You do one thing that aspiring individuals do -- realize that you're not perfect and ask for criticism. Now, he has summarized all the key points needed; sometimes it just comes secondhand to a writer when judging a scene.

Tip: Detail it how you visualize it. What can you sense when you set the scene? I mean, you've done well enough that your players are chipping in with being IC, and not just posting actions without developing themselves. That's a huge + in my book :P))

Kira stopped her hand just at the man's shoulder as she listened to Erin's comment. She then shifted it in order to lift the man, instead of performing what she knew of burial rites.

"True there," she said, looking at the woman. "I'm glad we've reasonable people here -- mostly, those I go with just...well, consume the raw materials left behind, going with the idea of 'not to be wasteful'. I've never done that sort, but...yeah. You speak wise there.

"If you'd like, I can move in advance just to check if any of the Gamma's followers aren't straying around."

Aid in carrying the bodies to the village, or if anyone else wants to do so -- act as a forward scout.

"Well I wouldn't eat the people who helped us out... that big guy leading that group is a different story. Kinda wish that he didn't go off the edge.... I would tear his body up like I was in a feast haha. Well unless Erin would like to fly down just to give me food... which reminds me.. I'm getting thirsty."

Take a swig of blood from my water skin, and follow the rest to the village.

((The thing I probably don't appreciate the most is the somewhat on-rails nature of the way you process the actions - you do the action, then you have everyone do something that seems perfectly reasonable to you. Don't do that, please. It's a bit frustrating. Maybe do the turn in paragraphs, emphasizing each individual action - this makes it easier to process what each person does at what point. Also yeah, describe where we are. For the first few turns I thought we were in a large building or something. Oh, and please confirm whether we've done an action or not. It helps quite a bit. Oh, and could you tell us how we got here, anyway? In a PM, preferably. I assume somebody clonked us on the head, but was it in the same place for all of us, in our homes, where?))

Nectarius looks doubtfully at Erin.

"I doubt the guy's from here - he mentioned Qz when he babbled about stuff, and this is Hir Laer Berg. And I doubt they would judge it to be in bad taste, so to speak, if we partook of the bounty provided to us."

He glances at the dead guy. Maybe he's kidnapped from Ys or something? Well, he'll never know now.

"So, Erin, you think you could fly down and take a look at Vorl's corpse? Get some parts, maybe he even has some treasured things, being a Gamma and all. And maybe not all of it's broken and useless."

Suggest that Erin fly down and steal some of Vorl's stuff. Don't help yourself to delicious Yern-meats for now. If he's still bleeding, though, drink some free blood. Take the part pouch and an axe.

((The biggest problem, i have is trying to figure out what a turn is and what a piece of text and when i finally found a turn, i then must find some information regarding my character and the current environment he is in. Making a few headers, bolding stuff, italizing things and making things bigger can make a worlds difference.))

((Alrighty, I've changed the character sheets to include new things! When I write roll a d6, you can roll a d3 or d8. It's just that d3's cost 1 EP, d6's cost 2, and d8's cost 3. You can use an extra EP to do an extra roll.))
