Alrighty folks, next turn!

You all plan together to kill (or at least knock out) the guard. You gather near the cell railings, waiting for the guard to pass. He continues dragging the lifeless, bloody body through the dark, cold hallway. Nectarius keeps on the lookout for anything dangerous. You all prepare for the attack, sticking to the shadows. He finally arrives, still hauling his fallen comrade. Erin leaps to the railings and grabs his tail. She pulls him towards the cell, ramming him against the wall with a thud. The guard is surprised, he grunts and tries to gather his senses.

As he is stunned, the others rush and grab his body. You all pull him towards the rail. He is screaming now, not understanding what is happening.  As the vicious attack ensues, Zerol comes close and freezes his head, leaving the guard further stunned and confused. Clair also grabs him and electrocutes him, then he finally falls to the ground.

You find a key hanging from his belt. You take it and open the cell door. When you pass through, you search the two guards' bodies for anything worth of value. You find more keys, a battleaxe and two knives. You also take the skin armour they were wearing. In their pouches, you find multiple fingers and scalps. as body-parts are the currency used nowadays. The larger the part, the more valuable.
You take their waterskins, filled with blood instead of water, as blood is much more abundant in the dry deserts of Galapagos, and is also nutritious.

You look around, seeing multiple cells with other trapped Evolved. Hroki also hears Tor in a nearby cell. You can see a hall where the Gamma and his lackeys were dining, along with the butchered corpses of the boy and his family. You also see the door where they exited.

You need to divide the loot amongst yourselves. Now you have: 2 daggers (+1 Atk), 1 battleaxe (+3 Atk), 2 sets of skin armour (+3 End), 2 body-part pouches, keys, and 2 waterskins (blood)

((Its K ^^))

"Alright, two choices. We get out of here -- possibly free other prisoners to cause havoc and goodwill, or we aim straight for the leader. The latter, obviously, is more dangerous yet promises better rewards than if we were to head off with what we have currently.

"That, and hoping that the whole camp depends on the hierarchy of its leader."

Kira moved over and picked out a pouch along with a dagger and keys.; retain only unstrikethrough'd action.

"Anyone picking those? I don't drink blood, if nobody's taking the waterskin. The decision is yours to make, I'm heading with the winged woman."

Spoiler: Kira Aein (click to show/hide)

Clair take a waterskin and the battleaxe.

"I think taking out the leader best for now."

"I call dibs on the dagger and one of the part pouches. And if nobody minds, may I help myself to some armor?"

Grab a dagger and a pouch of body parts. If nobody else claims it, take one suit of armor as well and put it on. In addition to the parts already in the pouch, remove some choice bits of the two guards as well with the dagger. Follow the winged woman, making sure to keep an eye out for anyone behind us. Also, smell the air. Anything overly worrying about it?

"Well I'm plan on sticking with the winged girl. I'm fine with whatever you guys decide to do... I'd prefer the less dangerous route though. I'd like to explore around first. I like exploring..." Zerol says his part and then adds in, "I'd like to take some of the armor and one of the water skins too. If you all don't mind. Oh yeah my name is Zerol Cels. Haven't caught your guys' names yet."

Take a set of armor and a water skin of blood. Follow the winged girl and if time allows me, explore around for... whatever.

"I'm Erin, and you may get your chance to explore. We need to make sure that not only do we escape, but we stay escaped. these people wont be able to organize a pursuit if they suddenly need to replace their leader. you've seen how they are focused purely on strength. that may make them strong individually, but it is a glaring weakness in a group. they wont be able to reorganize quickly with their leader gone, and by then we'll be long gone."

we need to have somewhere to go. if there is still a leader to organize a pursuit. our escape will be short-lived. we need to break down the hierarchy of power here. leave a vacuum at the top, which the rest will be desperate to fill. the ensuing struggle will buy us the time we need to escape the entire area, and hopefully establish a new home, not just the time to leave the camp.

take one dagger, and the keys, leave the rest to be looted by the rest.

weapons are obvious icons and forms of power, those that only respect strength will respect those that are better armed than they.

keys are another, more subtle form of power, not only usefull for letting things out, but for trapping things in. perfect for treachery. if i dont want people to have opportunities for treachery, i need to keep the keys secure.

open the other cells one at a time, freeing the prisoners inside as long as they agree to work with us to escape together, no matter what our home tribes are (or were). once all the prisoners here have been either freed or chosen to not work with us, and we've looted the area of everything valuable, have two of the people from Hir Terke Hohl, possibly including myself, scout ahead with our darkvision by about 10 paces, followed by the rest of the group. go to the hall where we last saw their leader.

"Comon everyone, i dont care where you were from before, you're in this with us now. we're getting out of here together.

we need a pair of eyes that can see in the dark to take point so we don't walk into any nasty surprises. any volunteers?"

Oh right...Introductions...huh. Maybe if-

Kira felt a hand touch her own as it came across the hilt of one of the daggers and looked up to see the winged woman - Erin. Other than fight for the item (as was her wont with strangers), she conceded her hold of it in lieu of knowing the person. Old habits die hard, but are easily molded over, as she once heard.

"The dagger is all yours Erin. I'm Kira, by the way."

And she's moving towards the keys...too. Ok...withdrawing...

She subtly released her grasp on the keys - hardly visible in the light, but by the looks of the woman, it seemed she didn't notice anyway.

"-...And I guess we're heading over to get the leader then, huh. I'll move on with you, taking the front if you don't mind. I don't see much unlike your people, but I can sense other things invisible to the eye. Smells, scents, even the pitter-patter of a mouse."

Go with Erin's plan. Aid the search with the use of my senses in detection.

>...Take the pouch.

"Well, it would be rude of me not to introduce myself now. I am Nectarius of Hir Terke Hohl, pleased to meet you all. I'll cover the rear, make sure we're not being followed or anything. Oh, and I guess I'll notify you if there's anything strange about the air. You know, like massive bearlike predators running around nearby or something of that sort."

He gives his most winning smile and a thumbs-up to the group at the end of the introduction, hoping that he left a good enough impression to not be beaten to a pulp and left for a Gamma to find and snack on.

Seriously, how could things have gone so wrong? Captured by Hir Laer's merry mutants and in the middle of unfamiliar territory. It's sickening, that's what it is. Well, at least he's meeting new people.

"Aw, don't be so hard on yourself, Clair. You can manipulate electricity at will and shock people to death or at least unconsciousness. I do believe that puts you several levels above Average Joe Mutant in the food chain, and that's a very modest estimate. What's so freak-like about that?"

"Well, that's their own fault, really, for going swimming with you. Natural selection at work, so to speak. Look at you, for instance, out of the water and no worse for wear. So it's not like they can't get out of the pond and offer moral support from the shore. And you probably make a pretty good fisherman, electrocuting fish when you swim. Don't even have to spear them or catch them in a net or anything. So why your family would bother going swimming themselves is even more of a mystery."

"Ah yeah I forgot to mention I'm part of the Hir Korven Fjord. A guy with freezing powers that comes from the desert. Kinda weird like Clair's powers... except mine made my home quite comfy actually. Kinda wish I stayed there actually considering the situation I'm in... I kinda have a compulsion to explore and so I end up exploring outside and my home and i end up here. Everyone told me my need to explore would get me killed someday.... I sure hope they are wrong..." Zerol tells the group more about himself. Hopefully they won't find him overly friendly and annoying.

"Thanks Kira."
Erin takes note of how Kira not only wanted to show mercy to the guard, but also didn't want the blood and didn't compete with her for the weapon and keys.
A society built on power only lasts as long as the power does. She...
Erin breaks off her train of thought to join the introductory conversation.

"I was raised as part of Hir Terke Hohl, and you're no more of a freak than anyone else here Clair.
i'll go up front with Kira. Clair, mind passing Kira that axe? she's more likely to need it than you since we're taking point. besides, you have your electricity for if you get in trouble."

and getting the weapon in Kira's hands also puts it in the hands of someone shown to be willing to relinquish power, someone hopefully worthy of trust.
it's a bit of a gamble, but i have to be able to trust someone, and...

join Kira up front, i'll be the eyes, she'll be the ears.
