“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

dogecoin

I'm actually in the same channel as the guy who made dogecoin popular with a /g/ thread. So yeah, dogecoin is now a thing. There's even a subreddit dedicated to it and you can buy terrario for 5 kilodoge and gmod for 10 kilodoge.

Dogecoin is very much best coin yes wow. Very much kilodoges, become doge millionaire.

Heh, I was planning to buy some bitcoins over the weekend, but they seem a bit hard to actually get a hold of.  Turns out you mostly can't use credit cards to buy them, and when I tried to sign up to Mt. Gox they wanted my drivers licence and a bill as proof of who I am.

There is a bitcoin ATM where I live, but they change a 7% transaction fee and only accepts cash, which seems a bit ridiculous.

I think I might just stick to regular money for now.   :P

I mined up 10,000 dogecoins, or approximately one dollar USD.

Bitcoin is the sorta thing where if you were an initial investor you are rich, but everyone else may be doomed.

If nothing I've learned to toss a few dollars on other similar things in case they rise. C'mere Dogecoin, as a friend of mine said a few days ago: "Such Dog, so wow".

I bet it'll become so popular because of hilarity that it'll become the new Bitcoin.

If a proliferation of bitcoin derivatives arise, that would probably destroy the market for bitcoins and all derivatives.  If the value is driven by scarcity and there isn't any scarcity...

It does not help that I've had no experience with any manner of bitcoin mining at all since... summer of 2011. In particular, I do not know how to join a pool (since I never did that). There are no guides to dogecoin, because of the entire pants-on-head aesthetic, and attempting to follow guides to Bitcoin (under the assumption that dogecoin should be obvious once you've got that figured out) has just resulted in errors popping up since miner programs are an alien mystery to me, and I don't know what anything does.

You just hate the upcoming glory of dogecoin. Why do you resist the future, bank lover?
