Divinity - Original Sin Release
« on: March 28, 2013, 05:12:50 pm »

A open world, turn based, co-op rpg (with distinct decisions and the ability to go seperate ways, for one thing), built around systems. To boot, the game has pretty much already been made. This is a Kickstarter purely to be sunk into improving the systems within the game, which already sound appealingly flexible, interwoven and open to player manipulation as well as kicking us in the teeth for the same. There is also a free, and powerful RPG editor shipped with the game. Here is what RockPaperShotgun think. http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/03/28/hands-on-divinity-original-sin/#comment-1236057.

Here is the Kickstarter. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/larianstudios/divinity-original-sin

Edit:
Well well well. People liked the alpha, I'll tell you that now.

This looks great.  Will be watching anxiously.

My wife and I played Neverwinter Nights together a bunch, but I always hated how it felt like only one person was really playing the game.

On second thought, give it a bit to see if they change the female art design. They seem to currently be going the leather thong of invulnerability style, but given the apparent (i hope) quantity of complaints, that may change soon.

They have both changed it (if keeping silly posing), and been funded. Stretch goals have been announced and they look good.

You sure it is out?  Sounds like it was just a hands on preview.

The co-op does seem pretty interesting, and so does the preview on RPS. This looks like the kind of RPG that I could not just play, but share. Hoping though that they would have some means of getting into their alpha/beta thing since the kickstarter passed me by without me noticing.

The first kickstarter alpha release of it just went live [at least, it did for me, got a email, linked to their website-vault thing, got key, now dling via steam].
Only for the original kickstarter backers, i dont think if you late-back you get the access for awhile.

Whoa, I thought that there's a big topic for this game here, and I only see a few posts about this upcoming epic RPG?  :o

Official site. http://www.divinityoriginalsin.com/

Apr 25. can't come soon enough. According to the previews it looks like that this will be the RPG of the year. This one or maybe the new Dragon Age game. It definitely has an amazing feature list. -> http://www.divinityoriginalsin.com/featuresoverview.php

I've briefly 'played' the alpha and a couple days ago the beta, but waiting until updates won't potentially break saved games before I start playing proper.  It's looking pretty nice though, very much looking forward to starting to play for real.

Is that 25th April when it comes out of early access and goes "live"?

I've played the beta, this game is awesome already. I wouldn't be surprised if it would get the RPG of the year award on many sites.
It should go live on 25th apr., but I think that there is a chance that it will be postponed again, but who knows.

Another beta version is coming in a few days....so the apr 25. release date is incorrect sadly...someone should update the wiki perhaps.  ???
