EBWOP: Oh, and both shattered candles were UNLIT. If it's not obvious, the candle lighting ability became a candle shattering ability.
So, you discarded the possibilities that 1) scum simply got a new ability; 2) scum could always shatter candles; 3) the possible ability changes depending on outside factors and so on and so forth... why exactly? Apart from the fact that you're lazy scum appealing to emotion and covering your actions, that is.
Hey Solifuge, on the subject of withholding information from town, how about you tell us what you Tiruin just did to you?
Fuck, seriously? Yes, I did discard those possibilities, because they're stupid.
1. It changed on the night the storm started.
2. If the scum could blow up lit candles, why haven't they used it to explode white candles?
3. Because they stopped lighting candles on the same night.
It's a
PERFECT FIT. It works conceptually, it works logically, and it works well with the strategic decisions we've been seeing.
Okay. I hope we can cut the melodrama and get some rational discussion done here. Based on the advice I received, this is the end of the game.
Dariush, I think your god's advice means we snuff the enemy's greens, not light our own.
Regarding the No-Light on Day 1I believe that the scum chose to not light a candle on day 1. Why?
1. If they lit one of their own candles, they'd expose themselves. Very risky, especially on the first day.
2. If they lit one of the town's candles, they'd be empowering their enemy. Sure, it might make them look scummy, but you can't count on that, especially if they gain a powerful pro-town ability.
3. If they don't light a candle on the first night, and do on the second, somebody might claim a roleblock or redirect on a townie. This strategy has come up in every game I've played, though it's not always used, in this case, it is the best choice.
When the scum chose to hide Ottofar's candle on the second night, and then light his green, they made it look like they'd lit two candles that night, and hoped they could use the confusion to hide Ottofar's alignment while getting a scum green lit.
(I don't know. Something about that still doesn't strike me right. Why didn't he just lie about his ability? Then he might have had a chance to use it. I'll have to ask him)Occam's Razor, though. The simplest explanation is that Ottofar is scum and they've been keeping him alive because he keeps them one person closer to winner.
Ottofar: If you'll indulge me, why didn't you just lie about your ability? It should have been obvious that revealing it's name and mode of operation would make the rest of the players anxious.
That or you made a really dumb falseclaim.
Scum have been killing our Green Candles instead of our Whites... which indicates to me that we need to keep some of the Green Candles of the Town lit, and snuff the Green Candles of the Scum, in order to win.
This just isn't true. They snuffed Remuthra's white last night and blew up ZU's white.
I went digging through everyone's posts. I was very suspicious of Toaster at first for being aloof and opportunistic, but going over his posts I realized he was a lot more involved than I originally thought. I went through a similar process with NQT. By process of elimination, I found myself looking at Nerjin.
Nerjin is my top scumpick. He's been quiet and aloof the whole game, he was the last to claim his ability, he claimed an ability identical to Webadict's, and
most of his contributions look like this.
- Also, when he
claimed his actions on Day 6, he listed Night 6 as unclaimed, which makes sense because night 6 hadn't happened yet, but the implication there is that
he knew there was going to be a night 6 and didn't say anything about it while many of us thought we were at LYLO.
- And add
gloating to the list.
...he's DEFINITELY scum. I'd stake my life on it. No joke.
