Too bad for you. Sugar leads to diabetes, diabetes lead to huge medical expense bills, huge medical expense bills leads to budget problems, budget problems leads to the feeling of insecurity, and insecurity leads to bloated defense bill and somehow turning into an American.

All those problems you just described are epidemic in Australian society.
Excuse me, I need to start a letter campaign.

Non Dutch people suck at making bread. Have you ever tasted English or German bread? Horrible, truly.

Belgian bread seems to be the same as here though.

Yeah, English bread do sucks, but German bread? German bread is great. Sure, some kinds of it are probably the closest real-world alternative to the Discworld's dwarf bread, but their dark, dense rye bread is wonderful, although you probably need to get used to it. And learn to slice it really thin if you don't want to break a tooth.

Well, from what I've read in this thread, I don't think it can with the current management. Honestly, it appears they're trying to turn Australia into a bad combination of the USA and a secluded tolitarian state.
Hey, those are UN treaties we are in violation of. We should totally be fine as far as the EU goes...

Quote from: Consolidated version of the European treaties, Section II, Article 6
1.   The Union is founded on the principles of liberty, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the rule of law, principles which are common to the Member States.

2.   The Union shall respect fundamental rights, as guaranteed by the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms signed in Rome on 4 November 1950 and as they result from the constitutional traditions common to the Member States, as general principles of Community law.

3.   The Union shall respect the national identities of its Member States.

4.   The Union shall provide itself with the means necessary to attain its objectives and carry through its policies.

Wait an...

Anyway, the history course isn't even my greatest worry. Over here the science curriculum is pretty damn good. Evolution and global warming are both taught as fact (In the context of a science classroom, that is to say nothing is unquestionable, but trust us on this stuff), and there is a strong focus on the concept of empiricism, the kind of stuff that produces left leaning young adults. I truly hope he doesn't think he can go all US republican on us and bend the school to his political will.
IT ALL MAKE SENSE NOW, WE ARE BECOMING AMERICA

*Evilsx has become completely mad*

Come on MSH, Europe is not ever a real continent anyway, we can stretch it a bit.

Until...

Until the whole world will be European. Fear, fear the power of real bread and health insurance!
That sounds nice, sign me up for this new Europe-Australian Party :P

Shit... One day we will take our rightful place as a European nation! With human rights and bread for all!
Until that time we can hang out with China and Indonesia and all those other growing economies that we feast on.

Shit, this is the fastest the Australia thread has gone since the election!

EDIT: That was weird. Never mind.

Something went wrong with the treaties there...

Edit: There were plans to cooperate closer with the EU, mostly environemental things. But considering the current government has gone full-on corporate denialist, that's not going to happen.

Yea, a lot of the rhetoric you hear these days is about how Australia should be the US... A few Coalition back benches have been known for flying over to the US to engage in talks with Tea Party members.
On the one hand, we are fucked, on the other, they won't last a term. This has quickly become the most disliked sitting government in Australian history.

Oh hey, relevant to bread. Industry wars on high sugar foods! One day we may be Europe yet!

..And one the third hand, they know this is happening and maybe will try to get a lot for crap to happen which will fuck everyone over
