This may be the only politics thread that involves a wizard.

Posting to mock Australian politicians.

FTFY.

Also, while we don't have a wizard running for place in the senate, we do have a wizard (Baba Desi, the Wizard of Belgrave).

We also have a guy I'm convinced is a fuckwit, Danny Nalliah, an ultra-rightwing fundamentalist christian.
Looks like we're emulating America in more ways than one...

Posting to mock Australians.

Australians ... you know, those uneducated hicks who consistently trump the USA in reading, math and science

Feel free to mock us if you come from one of the countries which outranks us in reading: South Korea, Finland, Canada, New Zealand or Japan. Otherwise STFU you illiterate foreign ape. ;D

I'm kind of hoping we keep labour a little longer so the NBN won't be interrupted.

Really? I heard we were actually performing pretty poorly in that international test. I mean I'm kind of trusting ABC to be impartial, despite from what I have seen they have a political leaning towards the Greens (Amd I am totally ok with that!) so where was I going with this?

Anyway, NZ is cheating. Teaching students to count sheep is too much of an incentive for them.

Hahahahahahahaha! *Wipes tear from eye*
Oh you. Like the Labor party isn't about to get wiped out in favor of the Dark Reign of Abbottm. Seriously, I would love to give him some foreign policy, if you know what I mean. The kind where I can just dismiss his cries of misery as 'Will not help you skip the non-existent line'

Considering I can't vote hoping is all I can do. My electorate hates our MP so much it isn't even funny, so I know labours lost one seat.

I'm actually really happy that we have the preferences system, rather than the first past the post system like the US.
I'm a Greens supporter. Always have been, and I can't promise I always will be, because they win my vote out of having the best policy rather than loyalty, but I like knowing I can support the best party and not split the vote, helping the Liberals.

Proud to live in a democratic democracy.

Yeah, its nice to vote a minority party, knowing that at worst you are just assisting the "least worst" party.

Considering I can't vote hoping is all I can do. My electorate hates our MP so much it isn't even funny, so I know labours lost one seat.

When we last had our local elections, the only actual party available to choose from was the Australia First Party.

I died a bit inside.

Just going to say that Labor is going to lose. Badly. With the leadership problems, and the poor WA state elections they are stuffed.

Welp, at least you weren't voting for the Rise Up Australia Party.

Challenge: Watch the entire video and not rage. I can't do it...

State elections often don't reflect federal and vice versa. You can only judge by federal polling in Australia, there was a time not that long ago every single state was Solid Labor, and John Howard's Liberals kept taking the federal elections.

This country was founded on catholic values!
Multiculturalism is bad! (Actually says this, not a paraphrase)
If you come to this country, you chose to, thus you must assimilate into our white culture!
Secularism is bad!
We need to fight for the values of the 'silent majority'!

Argh, damn silent majority argument. Unpopular politicians just say that to feel good about themselves.
