Here's a few bits of information/ideas that I can contribute!
1)Solid state memory only wears out when you
write to it, not when you read from it. Hypothetically a SSD for a computer will store information for centuries if cared for extremely well and if you only read and never write to it. Combined with a custom-built reader and some backups you could probably be able to access any information on them for 40-75 years (based on the lifetime of a screen) and even then the information wouldn't be lost, just your reader. If you pushed your new civilization in the direction of developing readers quickly then you wouldn't be without any information there for too long. The technology race then only needs to push to developing a new reader for the disks, not the information itself.
2)A simple crank generator will provide power for longer then most people will live, and certainly will provide power for longer then the lifetime of your screen reader. For batteries you would probably want to use a mainspring instead of chemical ones, as it won't go dead in a couple of years and can be replaced with only a low level of technology.
3)If you have 3 females in your groups you could solve all genetic diversity problems with a small human sperm bank. With 2 you may still encounter problems, but only for 1 generation. Sure you get to the whole "using women as baby factories" thing that many people are touchy about, but in the event of mass extinction one of your biggest goals will be to increase your population as quickly as possible. More manpower = faster development, as well as more resistance to disasters/disease. Perhaps your greatest goal is to increase your population as quickly as possible in order to provide the manpower needed to enact your developments and infrastructure requirements.
4)While I don't find any problems with your idea of "love", I would suggest a strong emphasis on the tracking of genealogies and the use of that to determine if someone can be wed. Assuming you start with a maximum diversity through my suggestion above and that each generation manages to produce a tripling (figure 8-10 children with an average of 6 living) it will still be at least 4 generations beyond the original five, your great-great-grandchildren, before the problem of genetic diversity starts to edge off (figuring 6 children survive each pair and the loss of 1-3 pairs for female/male ratio I put my estimate of generation 4, [the founders are gen 0], at around 45 people). Freedom is nice and all, but the facts need to be dealt with first if you want to increase your population quickly without genetic problems. You might also want to consider the idea of
Line/Group marriages instead of our idea of a nuclear family, since they would provide a greater population increase while still maintaining stability.
5)Since you are already semi-deifying the materials you are bringing with you, you might want to place an emphasis in your new world on the sharing and development of technology. A religion that was focused around hard work and sharing innovations for the "good of the community" as well as the basic "be nice to other people" facts would greatly help to keep your group focused on developing as quickly as possible.
6)Set your "adult" age low. The sooner people can be considered "adults" the quicker you can go through generations and the faster your population will expand.
7)Bringing metal is good. Until you hit a few generations down the road you won't have the manpower to do much of mining, so any tools you make will need to last quite a while if you don't want to end up using stone ones.
8)Paint will reduce or remove many of your corrosion problems for your safe. If you make it a tradition to keep the dang thing covered in paint then it stops most corrosion problems and that is no longer a consideration. At that point how impressive looking it is isn't a factor, since you will be covering it with paint anyways.
