Moddability is supposed to come at some point so replayability will be extended a good bit I presume after that.

Moddability huh? I am now quite intrigued by the possibilities.

Aaaaannnnnd.... I just lost my first settlement to starvation and freezing. Time to learn how to feed my minions correctly. :P

For my 2nd run I'm gonna try if I can build a farming- or hunting-oriented settlement and obtain every other things by trading them.

Just bought this. In in my 10th year and doing quite okay.

There's no way to make crafts is there? I'm exporting just firewood for now, as it's the only sustainable income source I've found so far that's not leather.

It's cheaper in the Humble Store (EUR15 instead of EUR19). I recommend getting it there if you want it immediately.

I think I'm going to wait a while, until the price drops or it goes on sale. I know it might be a long wait, but I'm not exactly short on games, and I can't really afford all that money for something with really quite limited gameplay at the moment.

Not to stupid or too lazy...simply greedy...which I guess in the business world would make them "smart" since they pretty much have a monopoly on digital game distribution for the most part.

Last I recall it's moreso "lazy" as if the publisher doesn't give them both a euro price and a USD price they will simply use the USD price for both.

Maybe someone should message the developer and let him know about the price discrepancy. He might not be aware that Steam does this to internetional customers, if the developers don't set prices for each region, seeing as how Steam actively censors all mention of it on their forums. I definitely didn't know about it until I moved to Europe. When Steam tells the developers that they have the option to either set prices for each region, or just set the US price and Steam will use their default "conversion" for other regions, they probably don't explicitly point out that their "conversion" means sticking a euro sign in place of the dollar sign and hiking up their profits by 30%.

Do you mean they convert the US dollar price? Or just say the same amount, but in Euros?

Steam's default is that one euro is equal to one dollar. This means that a thing costing, say, $20 for an American (14.54 Euro) will by default cost 20 Euro for a European ($27.50).

As I recall, the developer can change this to make it fair, but by default you get this bullshit.

Is there not a separate thread somewhere about this topic?

No, the OP simply updates the thread title to reflect the status of the game.

Unless you're referring to http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=125476.msg4202725#msg4202725 which is basically a dead thread anyways and not as useful

EDIT: Rome total war 2 still totally has a trailer now

I think maybe he was referring to Steam pricing discussions.

Indeed I did.
I may have chosen the wrong set of words tough.
