This looks interesting, but I'm going to hold off on purchasing until someone has popped up an honest review here. I trust the opinions of other Bay12ers more than I'd trust any review site.

The interface is aggressively right-handed (e.g. WASD instead of cursor keys for movement), but can be configured.  I believe there is one texture missing on the rowboat moored on the fishing wharf, but I could be wrong.  It takes a little getting used to right-click to clear the mouse cursor but that is no big deal.  When placing buildings, be sure not to think you have failed and place more "failed" starts before realizing that you have ordered five fishing wharves to be built.  But you can cancel them with the building removal tool and you get back any materials that have already been delivered.

I survived my first winter.  All of the wheat and pumpkins that we grew the previous summer were gone and most of the potatoes that we brought along with us were also gone.  We now have a forester, an herbalist, two fields, a fishing wharf, a blacksmith, and a woodcutter.  There are not enough people for all of these jobs at the same time.  The farmers helped to build the forester and harvester huts.

Kids are children at the age of 1 and are walking around looking about 10 in RL.  I have to get used to this short-lived species I am presiding over.

Also, my first attempt ended in failure. Everyone starved to death.
Note to self: If you are going to start on Hard mode, build a gatherer/fishery/hunter hut first.

Moddability is supposed to come at some point so replayability will be extended a good bit I presume after that.

Quick question: For setting up orchards do you hit the yellow and white circle to choose what grows?

You open it's context menu and click the far right button to open a drop down menu listing available seeds.

That icon is there to tell you "this thing is ready but you haven't told it what to grow yet". It's an indicator.
