The guy's belt has several of them, fyi, plus the lance.

I guess the way opposite of our allies so we don't get targeted with them.

I think using the lancet could serve as a good distraction even if it doesn't destroy the mech and maybe even save some people.  On the other hand, if it doesn't work it might draw attention to us but I still think it's worth the risk.

I wonder... can we take the belt and throw it like a bola, just after priming one of the lancets? That might be enough to do some serious damage.

Not to the front- the thing's specially armored to resist siege rounds.

@gunin: is the lancet release control in the lance's handle, or on the lancet itself? If the Mech's too far away to throw past, using the lance as a lever might make it feasible.

Its on the lancet. You arm it and then either throw it or attach it to a lance.

I take it we want to run to the mech's right side after grabbing the lance & belt, (ditching the shield). Once we're close enough, throw an armed lancet on the far side of the mech, (his left), and continue flanking on his right. Wreak havok once we get behind him, (I personally would like to wedge the armed lance into joint & throw the lancets at his exposed back).

What horrible irony, btw, that we'll be saving the men who are only alive now because they disobeyed our plan.

For the record I'm not disinterested in this story, just busy and don't really feel like voicing my opinion on the matter at hand.

Still appreciate the storytelling though!

I'd say throw it on whichever side would allow it to be more likely to explode into the rear of it. But yeah.

I hate calling them automatons. Its an awful, unwieldy word for something thats going to become a common theme in the game, and Maton is just as bad if not worse. Can't someone come up with a better one? ;o;

Operative being better...you could try something simple like: Armor, Guards, Bastions, etc- Just using a thesaurus here.
