I don't think they work better, there are just more weak points, and it's easier to hit them with it. Cuz' its a big, slow tank. Not a moving, trained target that's at their best up close.

I vote no squire.
Why? Its good for everyone to know why you think so.

For the merc contracts, I vote for Hiketo first, since it's a one-time deal. Then Chokoba, for a cool-down, and then the Borma one. We should get a squire; it'll be nice to have someone help us with armor and weapons, someone to trust, someone to talk to, someone to get exposition from, someone to give exposition to, and someone who we can teach to be cool and then have them save us at some critical moment and later die so we all get emotional.
Do you guys want to do this?

I'm neutral to the idea of a squire.  On one hand, what if he decides to slit our throat while we sleep / poison us and run away with all our money?  On the other hand, it adds a little more depth to our plot, gives us someone to talk to, and he might be good for keeping an extra set of eyes on things and preventing people from sneaking up on us (which is apparently a very real possibility).

Any merc contract is fine at this point.  Kind of leaning towards the Hiketo just because another larger battle sounds fun but the extra money from Borma would be nice too.

He's a squire. Not some random dude. I doubt he'd slit our throat.

Squires aren't random street rats, they're wannabe knights or something like that. Slitting our throat would demolish whatever ambition he has

Pfft, are squires immune to the effects of greed?  We have an artifact mace (two in fact) worth untold amounts of money after all...

Anyway, a little paranoia couldn't hurt.

Yeah but like I said, artifact mace worth untold amounts of money... might be enough incentive for someone to kill.

Priceless has two meanings.

One, that it's so expensive it's beyond the scope of cost for any normal or even extremely rich person. It cannot really be bought or sold, save by countries and their rulers.

The other is that it's so unique that no amount of money, EVER, will be worth as much as it.

I think these count as the second. It's gonna be hard to find a buyer, considering the Patrichlans will want to kill whoever has it. And he probably can't even use it, it's so big.

And finally, we don't have to tell him we have these priceless maces. They can just, you know. Be maces.

Firstly, why do explosives work better on tank armor than Knight armor?
Second, do you think a properly-made "mecha" could combine the strengths of a tank and Knight?
Because tanks are slow and have very limited anti-personnel capability up close. Its not that explosives don't do damage to either target. Both tanks and knights in most cases cannot be dealt much harm by handheld explosives unless detonated from within or directly in front of the armour. Its a lot easier to drop a grenade into a tank's stovepipe than it is to stab a moving giant with a sword twice as big as you in one of his joints (a very small target) with a spear.

Sure.

He's a squire. Not some random dude. I doubt he'd slit our throat.

I hardly even use dice except for damage so its not like I'm gonna be all "derp. rolled a 35. squire puts a grenade in your helmet. you wake up as chunky salsa. game over. derp." If thats what you're worried about.

Haha that would be priceless.  Anyway like I said, I don't really care either way.  I pointed out what I considered the positive and negative aspects of a guy following us around all the time, that's all.

Meh, just want to be self-sufficient. If we have a squire following us around like we're some pretentious..guy, he's going to just get on my nerves. Also: we'll always attract attention, (more so than if we're by ourselves). Also: we'll have to care for him/her.
If squires are legit up-and-coming knights, I might just be okay with it. But I don't want some scrawny human getting underfoot.

They're legit up-and-coming knights, more like pages than squires. I already said don't worry about food, so don't worry about literally caring for him, but your actual relationship will be determined by how you treat him. And its not pretentious, because all knights have an entourage, because they're effing knights. YOUR LIFE IS AWESOME. DEAL WITH IT.

Okay but can we at least train this guy to become a charming yet cold blooded and brutal killer?

I'd say it depends on the guy.

Sure. Whatever you want. Be a stern, quiet mentor slowly doling out wisdom and letting your pupil learn from experience, Batman style, or a kind, protective father figure who never let's his protégé come to harm. Or anything else you can dream up. I don't care. I just make stuff sound cool.

I actually went with bane bane (oceana) first, then borma second.
I agree with getting a squire and support the above quote.

Looks like we're going with this, plus grabbing a squire before we leave. Turn up in a bit!
