Yeah, I was actually going to mention that calling this a Simple RTD is a bit of a misnomer, no? Then again, I don't see any way this RTD could become simpler without losing a lot of its appeal, at least to me.

Well, since you are putting this on hiatus, you must realize that new things have to be added. Like advanced foreign trade, naval combat and complex barbarian tribal politics that await discovery in the far-off edges of the map.

And don't even get me started on colonization and exploration of the ocean kickstarting a brand new Age of Discovery.
