You have to wonder why dwarven boots expose the toes. Do dwarves just like to feel the stale cave air on their feet that much? Do they rely on their toes to figure out what in front of them in the dark? Is there another reason?

Clearly, it's for the stone sense.

Well, the illustrious Vampiress Accountant, Ustuth Enshalkeskal Usennokor, has struck again.  This time, she slaughtered a child.  This will not stand!

I have decided that her punishment will be banishment.  She is to be walled up within a small barracks in the bowels of the fort, with her dog, and a hammer of quality.  There, she shall train alone, until she has achieved a respectable level of skill in her weapon.  At that point, she shall lift a pick, and strike the stone, breaching her way into the caverns.  There, she shall spend the rest of her days, among the Forgotten Beasts, where she belongs.

But she's finally being useful. In fact, you should make her the fort caretaker and have her raise all the children.

The only good vampire is a dead vampire - specifically, one who died to fill your well of unlife with her wnderful liquid extract, so that your warriors, once they have reached the limits of their attribute training, can be converted to a horde of invincible, immortal champions.

I wouldn't ever let her out of her banishment and confinement. The only real thing to do is give her a slightly larger area. Make sure it contains a butcher and a leatherworking shop and a stockpile.

Then all you have to do is give her a female dog. She can make her own damn pants for the rest of eternity as she slaughters her way through generations of puppies. Never armour, just pants. That which caused her distress will forever be her task in unlife as punishment for her crimes. You could even set up a small micro industry base for her. Cooking, leatherworking, bonecrafting, even war animal training. And a desk and a chair. She shouldn't get out of book-keeping that easily.
