Your third toe on your front left foot is missing. It was stolen by Stalin.

You are yourself a somewhat proficient wizard, although you are by no means a master mage.
[6] You are a pretty good mage, but your spells tend to go awry.

Your third toe on your front left foot is missing. It was stolen by Stalin.
[4] Yup. Not Stalin personally, but still.

The place where you live is a large desert.
It's Siberia. [3] There are some trees and a few struggling gardens, but the rest of the area is barren.

I have to say, this is an excellent idea! Mot is a great character now. I may steal your idea if I ever need a really spectacular nemesis for a roleplay campaign :D

You collect a wide variety of artifacts. Your lair is in fact a giant museum full of your collected exhibits.

Though your twin sister is evil, you don't let it get in the way of a healthy family relationship between the two of you. You accept each other's different views of the world and occasionally visit each other on friendly terms.

One of the side effects of slowly breaking down is you starting to feel extreme cold, while you should normally not be concerned about temperature at all. You spend significant portions of winter huddled in your lair under several large blankets.

[2] You'd kinda like to, in the same way you'd kinda like to become emperor.

[4] You don't always get along well, but this doesn't get in the way of getting along amicably.

[5] It's strange. Several years back--around the time you lost your toe?--you felt something you'd never felt before--cold. It's an unpleasant sensation. When you're cold, you slow down and down...if you get too cold, you freeze solid until someone comes by to thaw you. To avoid this, you spend winter huddled up until the weather is warmer.
