My fort is only three years old, a decent military of ten dwarfs decked out in iron. Have about nine cage traps in front of a drawbridge. Those capture most the invaders then my military can defeat the rest with relative ease.

Then this happened...

Lets hope someone can hit the lever to pull up the draw bridge or this fort is over...

Ha I won!

Well not really...

I waited for my dwarf caravan to leave with a good 9 bodyguards and also put everyone in the military. So as the caravan strolled out I told my army to to charge which of course got the bodyguards involved in the fighting. So the non military acting as human shields and my military decimating their units one by one I killed half of them and the rest fled.   

Now of course half of my population died and started a massive tantrum spiral to finish off the rest and ending the fort. But it was fun and !!fun!! as hell.

Those goblins won't attack any caravans any time soon. Because they're dead. Dwarf strategy is best strategy.

Well not really...

I'd say you won: using a caravan to distract a massive archer army is damn good tactics. You'll get a beard of honor for this!
