Quick, someone break out the correct Taylor series (I think it was)! We're going infinite here.
I'm in Calculus III and I don't get the Taylor series.

Math is a rocky plain.

Please Putnam where would I find a teacher like that?

I wish I could enjoy math like some people do... :/
Stop looking at math like something you need a teacher for. Actually look at the numbers and the dance. It's not a chore, it's choreography. X wants her solo, get her alone. Pi wants the D.

If you want a better idea of what I mean, watch some of Vihart's videos. Even if you don't think it'll be interesting, watch the one I linked.

Pi wants the D.

In my experience, Pi prefers the e.

I have never seen pi and e used together.

I'm confused o_O You don't understand it or it isn't part of your curriculum?

Also, here: eπ

I wonder if you can use the taylor series to calculate the approximate value of pi to exceedingly precise numbers using GPGPUs and their parallelsm.

e^(iπ)=-1

there :P

I can only hope these magnificent applications come up in calculus-based physics.

I'm confused o_O You don't understand it or it isn't part of your curriculum?
I don't understand it because actually teaching it isn't part of the curriculum. Before this semester I wasn't taught what anything meant, just how to use it in a formula.

Whoa.

Okay now I really want to start Calculus.

Trust me, you won't learn that starting calculus. The good stuff doesn't start until late part 2.

Oh, just remembered something I discovered while playing around on a calculator!

ln(-x) = ln(x) + iπ

Isn't that cool?

(just so you know, that's another example of e going with π, hehe)

I used to love entering random expressions on my graphing calculator and seeing what would turn up. Especially since it could do 3D graphs :P

Pi is displaying very poorly for me.

SO UGLY.

There are graphing calculators that do this? That is amazing.

I'm more fond of the arial and georgia, personally.

Indecision. Good thing pi day is already over for me!
I did not, however, increase the radius of my gut semicircle through consumption of round foods, as is tradition. Another year wasted. But pi was not forgotten.
