Dwarves Terrorized by Goblins lower right arm! Help!
« on: March 14, 2013, 02:40:52 pm »

Hopefully one of you out there can help me! I've just survived a siege by 3 necromancers at the same time. By using some dwarf smarts I was able to capture 2 of the 3 necros. The 3rd was slaughtered by a troop of goblins. I managed to kill off all of the undead on my map (keep in mind I only had 70 dwarves at the time of the attack and there were hundreds of undead).

Anyways - I was finally able to set my alert to inactive and allow my dwarfs to gather supplies outside. Unfortunatly they keep getting inturupted by a "Goblins lower right arm!" When I zoom to the spot - there is nothing there. I even stationed a small milita at the spot but there is nothing for them to fight. The arm keeps terrorizing my dwarfs and they are becoming very very unhappy about it. Any suggestions on how to rid myself of this arm? It's near the bodies of some war heros I want to bury - but cannot because it keeps being interrupted.

Check a level up. It might have been sent flying and be stuck on top of a tree.  If so you'll need to either shoot it down or send a blind woodcutter to chop down the tree.

I took a look at the surrounding z layers and there is no sign on the arm.  The announcement is zooming me to a tile of Dense dog's tooth grass.  It also seems to be moving between 2 different tiles (that are about 30 tiles appart (it could be 2 right arms I guess).

I closed the program and re-opened, but this arm is still preventing my dwarfs from getting their work done.

Any other ideas?

Don't zoom the announcement. (u)nits list, Others, select the offending arm, zoom (c)reature.  That should pinpoint it for you, probably.

This right here. Zooming to an "interruption" announcement will simply tell you where the dwarf was standing when it was interrupted, not where the thing that interrupted it is.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!
