Star Colony Control
« on: March 13, 2013, 07:49:37 pm »

In times many centuries into the future, the Earth has given rise and fall to many civilizations, many races beginning and ending. In all these eons, only one has given rise to an interstellar race, the humans. From there, mankind continued to evolve, and change. Many species of man began, along with many factions. In an attempt to once again unify man as a single species and nation, the Intergalactic Human Empire created a massive starship, capable of holding millions of people without even being full. It went well for a while, with most nations taking root onto the vessel and staying there, until they found that some people disagreed with unification. From these anarchists became the Galactic Pirate Association. The attacks from these, as well as spreading unrest throught the people, caused the IHE to lose sway, and were quickly reduced to little more than tax collectors and "law" enforcers. Now, the race has begun to take on the role of the leader of mankind, at whatever cost, even if it costs the lives of millions of humans. Will your race be able to take power? Or will they be squashed beneath the feet of the opposition? Will you win favor with the public by grand speeches or equality? Or will you threaten and extort them, and make anyone opposed quietly disappear?

In this game, you will make your race and attempt to gain dominance over the starship through any means you chose. You can try to purify the ship of all that are not of your race, or promise equality. You can force them to listen to you with fear, or sway them with speeches. Please also note that I will be rejecting any races that I find are unbalanced. If you care to play as another faction of one player's race, then feel free. Also, be wary of the pirates that raid this place regularly with no concern for who they kill, so long as they get to take some loot.

Just provide a description of the race, their pros, and their cons. I really don't care about the configuration of this, as long as all the information is there.

Race : Noghri.
Description : Larger then average human size and with a very athletic build, the Noghri are a small population of reclusive warriors who train from a very young age to fight, they have also taken up residence in the armory area of the ship and as such have used it's labs to devise highly advanced equipment.

The Noghri do not seek control for themselves but will work for another if he can make them the right offer.

Pros : Be afraid, be very afraid.

Cons : Meh it had to happen.

I suppose I will take it. Don't expect the peacekeepers to take too kindly to that, by the way.

The Noghri were one of the first races to set their minds to the domination of the ship. They were brutally strong, but low in numbers. Rather than work for their own dominance, they served as elites for the highest bidder. Residing in the armory, they have set up camp, much to the annoyance of the now-defunct peacekeepers.

Hey I gotta have some enemy, may as well be the peacekeepers.

Maybe I can make a deal with them and recruit them to work with me as the rank and file to support my elites.

Zuratul
Description:Average humanoids with thinner muscles, and bigger brain capacity than "normal humans. Use their superior intellect to augment their weakened bodies artificially, and wish to take control of the ship rather peacefully. Specialize in biotechnology, and mechanics.
Pros:Smarter, aptitude for medicine and mechanics(especially robots)
Cons:Physically weaker than most races, not very attuned for combat scenarios

(( Remember we are on a ship, so you can't have massive robots and if you blow a hole in an outer wall your going to cause a breach :) ))

Perfect. Accepted. Also, it's a really big ship, Brood. There's bound to be SOME areas with high ceiling. Also, they're peaceful, or at least for now. Besides, if you're using big, sufficiently heavy robots, who says a breach is a bad thing?

We are on a super ship. Which fits millions of people.
We have precautions for hull breaches.

Besides, you have your fortified military. We got androids and robots. Don't matter if we blow a few holes in the side.

(( Me when every living person nearby gets ripped out into space, systems can fail and oh I have so much more then just a fortified military. ))

Actually, at this moment in time, a fortified military actually is all you have as far as combat goes. You have weapons, you have shields, you have armor, you have a well-supplied fortress, and you have a military. You even have someone to defend against.
