DFHack Autodump Destroy not working?

Alright, so it seems after a few Forts, the Autodump Destroy command in Dwarf Fortress doesn't do what it is supposed to do, and instead just starts to hide/forbid what I've marked for destruction. Now, I don't mind much, but I do find it annoying, since I use it to clear areas of Rock that I've no intention of using.

How can I fix that? Do I redownload DFHack? Say tough luck, and delete my Copy of DF, then redownload and re-edit the Raws?

autodump destroy doesn't actually delete the item.  It just sets the garbage_collect flag to true.  I'm not sure how often the game runs garbage collection, but its not immediately.
