((Well, we do have the AM and the Doc on board. I'm sure they'd have no trouble extracting the information. I don't agree with you, I like the riskier choices if they can give greater rewards. Plus, I've got to RP Flint. But I see your point.))

((Yeah, I understand yours too. I'm just RPing Milno on the "execute orders, kill him already" thing but I can understand the desire to take a risky option.))

((I think Steve may be lying here.  We have brain surgeons and the Doctor.  We should be able to disarm him of his amp.. and the guy has a biochemical amp, which although very powerful, won't be any significant threat to the Sword as long as we keep him out of eyeshot of any of our heavy characters.  Then he could just get gassed or tranked and then it's surgery time.  Or hell, just sit on him, send someone out with a trank gun, ko him, surgery time.))

((Cross-thread repost!))

Quote from: Stacy "Cursed" Buttle; to: Feyri
Dear Feyri,

I am sending you this message to inform you that strange events appear to have transpired. They have much to do with the youth, Grate. I am unsure of the particular details, but it seems that, as I accidentally set certain manipulator specifics far too high in order to try and eliminate the amp specialist, mass destruction ensued, of which Grate was apparently an unfortunate casualty. He seems to have been caught under a giant piece of rock somehow - to be perfectly honest, I did not even know he was present with us until we found what appeared to be his remains underneath the giant piece of rubble. I am deeply saddened by his passing - or apparent passing, as the case may be - in a totally preventable, and thus all the more tragic accident.

On a somewhat more disturbing note, Grate does not appear to be entirely dead - in fact, his totally unharmed shape is standing unrealistically under where the rock landed right next to a bloody smear of some sort - I can only assume that magic is at work, and thus am vacating the premises as I am writing this. He seems to be looking at the sky, which is an ill omen if I've ever seen one. As for what has become of the boy, I dare not guess or investigate, and doubt that my limited expertise will be of use in such a matter anyhow.

I will set aside any apologies or expressions of regret for now, as the fate of Grate is quite uncertain at this point, but rest assured that, should he prove dead, they will be forthcoming and of very great intensity. But for now, I must bid you farewell and hope that you are not driven mad by grief. If it makes you feel any better, I swear not to use a field manipulator again in my life.

Condolences,
Stacy Buttle.

You shouldn't take chances, he does not need to be alive for information.

If Flint's takes too long to kill the UE, kill it, make sure he is dead and take its brain to the Doc.

((I can see the killstealing and ninjalooting has already started... Damn vultures! Find your own assassin to to bother! Can't you see I'm using this one? :P))

((In a more serious vein, it might be wiser to give any loot to the communal supplies as Miyamoto suggested and at least trying to interrogate the man to make sure that the Shadow Walker was indeed a hoax to scare the indents. I'd prefer to risk my life then risk loosing the Sword or some of our production facilities to nukes.))

((@Sean: Kinda hard to do that when you only have one leg. He'd have to mind control a lot of people and get really lucky.
Oh, and I just realized, accidental Monty Python reference! That guy is the Black Knight! Think about it! He keeps fighting even after he looses both arms and a leg. The difference is he can do more than bleed on me.))

((Yeah, I'd rather 'reward' feats such as this at mission end and keep with the 'all loot in one pile', keeps things straightforward and fair I hope. But we'll see what PW says of course.
Congrats to Flint on taking that guy on. Damn you got some great rolls there. I wonder though, why not just give him a good ol' bump on the head? That should knock him out, while not killing him outright. We'll see what the dice say.))

Join up with the group around the UE, and be helpful.

((Fair point. Though in that case the decapitation Flint is trying also won't cut it.

Heh, cut it.))

@Steve:"Are you sure? There's no other way? Can't I knock him out or put him in a sack or something and bring him to the Sword for interrogation? We might be able to interrogate him to confirm whether or not he's the last one, why they were sent here or if they managed to communicate what happened here to the UWM. You've got those... special two people on board. Can't they handle it?"

EDIT: How does he look like, anyway? I don't think we've ever gotten a description. Is he just a man dressed in that dull silver shade cloak and changeling mask?

If Steve confirms that there is no other way, say
"I'm sorry. I really wish you had surrendered. But you left me no choice." while slicing his head off, looking him straight into the eyes as I do so. Or his braincase, if he turns out to be a robot.

Else, if Steve says there's even the slightest chance I could somehow bring him back to the Sword to be processed, do that instead. Knock him out, drug him, put him in a bag, cut his eyes out, shield him with my own body from my bloodthirsty teammates, whatever it takes.

((Can't believe I not only survived that fight with no missing limbs, but I also managed to win.))

(I don't think you were around for the serial killer mission but really, you should guess what happens when an amp user is near death and has no teammates around to injure. I hope you succeed on this dex roll, because you're the only one close enough.)

[Dex:1+1]

(NOPE)

The UE laughs bitterly for a moment before his head warps into horrifying shapes and detonates into pieces. Hovering there, where his head used to be, is his amp. It's glowing with an angry red light that is spreading outward at an increasingly fast rate. As the light touches the flesh of his neck and shoulders they mutate, twisting into horrible shapes, growing eyes and teeth and bursting veins and nerves like wet noodles that twitch and spasm.

So yeah, he just overloaded his Amp. I hope you guys like running.

[Flint dex:5+1
[Milno Dex:3+1
[Renen...doesn't really need a roll. Too fast]
[Bishop Dex:3+1
[jack:1]

"YOU SHOULD HAVE GONE FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!"
Renen says before vanishing down the hall as nothing but a metallic smear moving through the air.

Flint shoulder checks Jack into a wall and Runs off down the hall, screaming like a madman and sprinting like a track star. He manages to outrun the encroaching expansion of flesh murder for the time being. Bishop and Milno both manage to get away as well, though they start a little late and get...just a bit mutated. They manage to catch up with Flint though, their suit's pumping in all sorts of drugs as it tries to counter act the violent flesh rebellion.

And Jack...well jack isn't dead. But lets just say that he might be in a different shape when this amp overload finally loses power and the team can come back and get him. As for now, his consciousness is a bit too scrambled to be useful.

Somebody was wondering about flesh manipulator overloads. Now you know.))

And this is why you never, ever try to reason with a UE.))

(( O.o

Oh dear. Can't wait to see if Bishop and Milno have been interestingly mutated from that. And Paris, this is more that these guys are essentially trained and/or brained washed to *be* suicidal in the face of capture. And they all have the amps to do it without it being possible to stop them short of killing them. A Sod Commander would probably be more willing to surrender, which I suspect some of them have considering that we haven't seen anymore Sod activity.

So, PW, is that a perma-death by insanity for Jack? Or is he just unconscious / not processing what has happened to him? ))

It may also not have helped my understanding that I have absolutely no knowledge of Clint Eastwood's movies, and thus no concept of those characters :P ))
