Milno shrugs and moves on. "So, the ship we recently stole is about to crash? Figures why we can't have nice stuff."
Cover the only unguarded way out of the maze.
You move down and Join Bishop's quickly growing band of merry tunnel rats.
"Shit! Get back! I fucking knew it! Steve! Any overrides for this thing?
If Steve has any verbal shutdown codes, shout them out, and if that doesn't work, put a gauss round through the bots' core.
>Just shoot it. [Con:5+1]
You gun the bot down extremely effectively. Mostly because you use several more shots then are necessary. But hey, it works.
"Oh thank the stars! I was starting to loose my mind from being alone down here with an invisible killer that has a habit of laying traps running around."
Bishop sighs in relief and collects himself.
"Ok, here's the down low: Some asshat tore out a sensor array here with a screwdriver or something. Steve says that's not something that a SW would typically do, so that means that someone else did it. I think he was controlling some poor bastard remotely and has him running around down here as a distraction. We're gonna try to find him, stop him from doing more damage and see if he's got some kind of camera or beacon on him that we can trace to tell us where the SW is, if we are lucky.
Now hold still while I check if you're a UE in disguise. Then we can get going."
Go ahead and check him to see if he's a UE. If he's good, follow the trail of the vandal cautiously with help from Steve. Make sure to check my corners and keep this other guy with me. Get his name too, while I'm at it so I know what to call him.
You poke at the new guy a few times to make sure he's not a UE or a ghost or a werewolf or something. He isn't, as far as you can tell, so you and him start heading deeper into the maze of tunnels. There are more, similarly removed sensors down the hall, as well as footprints and a small trail of blood. It seems like whoever was removing these hurt themselves a bit as they did.
Skylar sits there for a moment, staring at the mess of wiring inside the console.
... I qualify this a success. Rising stably is better than randomly getting thrown around the room. you know, unless we get shot at... Now then... you said you could bring this back under control, Steve? Any chance you could put the ship under my suit's control as well, or are the controls too fried for that?
Plug my suit into the ship, ask Steve for assistance. Assuming I'm not attached to the wiring to keep the stability controls active.
I'm pretty sure that Bishop was the only one who bought those interface wires.
Xan is wierd and pissed off!
Clamber up onto Lars' back. Keep a lookout for anything attacking me/him.
You climb up on Lar's back like an ambulatory meatball.
...
rather than go inside the tower, go to just a little outside each of its exits and check to see if i can find anything there to let me catch a trail.
For Feyri:
Go to the sword's gangway and remove several of the cameras we placed there. move them to be able to watch the other ships. for flying-wall-cutting-break-in-attempts.
Do these other ships need to have functional com systems? right now they're a security risk. Anyway, could you keep an eye on these cameras I'm placing to make sure the SW doesn't break into the ships?
There are sensors around the base of the tower as well, as Renen has discovered. May not want to interrupt them
Feyri moves the cameras from one area to a series of others. Not sure what happened to the nice person watching those cameras, but I think they gave the signal to everyone.
shoot drone with shotgun.
Lars twitches a bit. It's looking at him.
If Morul fails to disable the bot, put a round in it myself.
Gonna save you some ammo
Gorat looks after the ship. "Guess they bought some time, at least? Well, no idleness*. We're exploring this roof, if only to get back inside."
Explore the roof.
((*Says the right guy.))

You find a hatch on the other side that seems like it would lead down into the building proper.
"Need reinforcements, possible enemy combatant trapped here."
Where? I'm going there.
Go to the place where the sender of the message is. If somebody is there, ask if there is any way out of the place. If yes, go that way to check.
If attacked, enter BT, avoid, look for the attacker.
You join up with bishop in his hunt for the mysterious sensor breaker.
"The Reinforcements have arrived!"
There is an unusually large man standing there, wearing a mk1 suit and longcoat, holding a laser rifle in one hand.
Follow the first person I see. Look for bad guys to shoot.
Look for someone who is actually doing something.
"Hey Steve, could you lead me to where the action is?"
Steve leads out outside to the Amp Specialist hunters, a bunch of giant robots and synthflesh weirdos either standing around a hole or climbing down into it.
"Leo. Leo Girard."
Get violated by Bishop. Then follow his plan.

For future reference, you may want to reword such things.
Set a camera in this chokepoint and ask Steve to keep watch. Then start searching the area for whoever took the sensor and any signs of where they might have gone.
One of those motion sensors from Aliens would be really useful right now...
You stick a camera down on the exit and then start slowly moving into the area. You don't see any signs of life in the first few hundred feet.
((I don't suppose lesser members of the HMRC will be put in any time soon? Say, Feyri, Xan, Lyra, Grate?))
((Aliens-tech motion sensors are a silly device though. What kind of motion do they sense? Through what? How do they determine when something moves, and not them? Stuff like that. Motion sensors can only sense the motion of what they can detect, and when they can detect something moving across several concrete walls, steel doors, and half a football field's worth of corridors... perhaps having a camera based on the same tech could be more useful?))
((It probably senses vibrations, possibly coordinating with systems in the complex and certainly compensating for their vibrations by basically knowing that there should be vibrations there--presumably due to sensor'd shoes--and similarly for any machines in the base.
Frankly, it makes a lot more sense than the xenomorphs themselves.))
Lesser members might make it in, the problem is that I assign names based on the class they get and whoever comes to mind. That and the fact that I tend to stick to a core group because it's just plain easier. But I'll try to include some newbies and lesser members. Although I'm not sure what grate would be.
Maybe a mec troop without his mech suit so he's completely unarmed?
((I don't suppose that there are any non-piratey ways to get an X-Com game for free?))
The original xcom is like 2 dollars on steam. I'd gift it to you if you have steam.
