Watch out, it's a chameleon!
Then it ends up turning rouge and killing everyone.

Working on the update, so I can send it to my past self this morning.
But due to the fact that it hasn't yet been posted wouldn't you be violating causality?
Imagine the people you'll kill by doing this when you create a new, parallel universe with this.

I'll simply forget to make the post. Or I could switch to Retcon Mode.

1. Why? Prototypes tend to be, you know, worse than the final product. Best try to get the bugs ironed out in versions which aren't vital, and if we accidentally make it out-of-control we won't kill half the village.

2. How would a normal polyp function AT ALL? Okay, I guess that I didn't say that.
1/ We make it a distance from the village.  And keep enough mana in reserve to blast it into smithereens if it goes rouge.  But I'm pretty sure we'll do fine with the "Don't attack these people" instruction set.
1. A worker should be cheaper, not to mention less complex and easier to salvage if a failure, you're assuming that we can control it while your arguments are focusing on the "what if it's uncontrolled" argument.

I wasn't aware these were your converts. However, these are my only followers, so if it were at all possible I'd like to keep them. (19)
I understand you need these followers more than I do, but I can't just let you have them. I'll tell you what, though. I will come back in five days with an army. If you can hold out, I'll let this go. Perhaps we might even discuss diplomacy. In the meantime, I'll remove my curse. It wouldn't be sporting.
You feel the dispersed Death and Water magic disperse. Now, I will see you in five days time. Don't expect it to be easy, either. I'm already helping you out, I want a real fight.[/font]
With that Marus' presence fades. It's time to get to work.

Nice role, guys! This really opens up your possibilities.

...Okay immediate invasion.

Build up mana and have the soldiers build up walls. Look for bombardier beetles, skunks, spitting cobras, or something.

It's not immediate. It will come, without you delaying them, on the sixth day.

Tell the villagers that there's an army coming in five days time.  Begin the creation of our GM army, and defenses forged both of the bosom of the earth and of GM things.
And tell 'em that the curse was lifted.
Also, let's get someway of restricting their passage through our territory and do our best to cause un-godly amounts of attrition to his forces.

OOC: I would like to nominate GWG's naming convention with regard to denoting magically created creatures, that being GM (Godly-modified).

Let's discuss soldiers.

There is a reason that once longbows took the battlefield, no (or very few) melee weapons were major parts of battles, except for a period when bayonets on rifles were popular. Being able to kill your enemy before he can hit you is a BIG advantage. Therefore, we want ranged units. That's why I suggested we look for those creatures--they are capable of various kinds of ranged attacks and--just as importantly--the GM probably knows what they are.
As for armor, it's important. Chitin has much to recommend, if we make it work on a large enough soldier. Otherwise, you probably can't beat a turtle shell for toughness, perhaps with a but of spongey spiracles or something.
On a related note, something like coral reefs but with stronger zooxanthelle would be a good living wall if we gave it better growth rates, as would bamboo if we made it tougher and...wallier.

Discuss.

Actually, I thought it was a combination of slow and heavily armored melee units and fast archers.  We should and probably could create a plant that grows really quickly, due to being imbued with life majick.  Solve food first, because an army is based on food.  Doesn't matter what kind of army, it needs food in some form.  We shall make our army after food is procured out of thin air in the form of plants.  In order for that we need water.  Let us create the cactus, and make it an edible cactus. It should survive, now that the curse is lifted.

some honesty would be good, like it sounds impressive to say you convinced a stronger god to remove their own curse.

We need to pick what we want to deploy on battle field since we have limited mana and resigning from few options will be vital to build our forces. Mongols were good against typical medieval army, and probably it is one like this. Combining it with deception(darkness and manipulating light by force) and few fortified positions protected by archers and few strong, hard to kill units could work. Say do any troll-like(regenerative, strong) creatures exist in those lands? We could use them as heavy infantry. I would also prepare some pits against enemies(just make sure our units won't run into it). Also we could prepare some webs to be thrown/shot at enemy forces to slow them, and destroy their formation.
Extra points for thinking up how to make arrows with area damage.

If not mongols then we need to go as heavily fortified as possible. Spamming bows does not change, but we want to employ more easy to do fortifications and deception at start of battle, maybe some kind of tunnels so we can move our units easily.

Also we need to know his composition of force, scout it now! We can wait with specifics of our creatures until we acquire data on enemy but lets start already growing them now!

@edit Against water magic - some kind of sponges if he tries to make battlefield all muddy.
Against death and cold - keep distance, shoot at him.

The well in town works again, actually. You have access to water now.
