101st Airborne RPG on Roll20
« on: March 11, 2013, 02:21:24 pm »

Hey guys. I am going to be running a campaign on Roll20 in which the players will play as members of a squad in the 101st Airborne, beginning on May 30, 1944. We will be using a "Roll under" system with d10 and d100s, and everything beyond that will be explained once we have figured out a day when everyone is available to start. If you are interested, or have a question, please feel free to post.

Sounds interesting! It won't let me poke around without signing up for an account. I'll take a look tonight after work!

Yeah, their account system is annoying, but mostly painless.

Your post is missing (arguably) the most important piece of information. What timezone?
edit: Also you can't view details unless you've 'join'ed the campaign. You are apparently "Not Authorized" to do so.

I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

Quoted myself accidentally instead of modifying.

I also wanted to know what the "roll under" system is (perhaps there's a link I should follow?)  And whether we'll be using text or voice.

a1s;
1.) I am in the eastern timezone (US)
2.) If you ask to join, then it should allow you to view details
3.) By "roll under" system, I mean a home-brew gaming system, the principle rules of which involve having a set of basic stats (strength, perception, etc) determined by d10 roll, and then having various checks based on one or more of these stats (modified based on circumstances) the success of which is determined by rolling under your combined stat level. I can get more in depth, but those are the basics. It is an extremely simple system that is easy to learn, mostly we will be focused on the role-playing aspect anyways.
4.) We will mostly/entirely be using text (probably)

Hope I answered all of your questions, sorry for the initial ambiguity.

I'm in GMT+2. So I guess I'm out, unless you guys want to play on Friday afternoons (even if we start at 6PM EST it will be midnight here.) I was actually looking forward to a game that wasn't sword&sorcery.
Also, microphones are built into everything these days, and I find that using them really improves the flow of a Role playing session.

Well, I do have a mic, so that might work. On the point of time-zones, I can't do Fridays, but we can do a Saturday afternoon. What would that be for you, time-wise?

There is a specific forum for this. It's called forum games and roleplaying, you can move your topic there and I highly recommend you do so.

And? It should be here. All the D&D games that aren't run on the forums are here.

Are you being deliberately trollish? Pathfinder is DnD (which you might not know, but...) This is explicitly not.
I expect you meant to use the term as a catchall for all PnPRPGs (which is trollish, BTW, you know better) so, could you provide links? I'm specifically interested in "DnD games" which:
a) run on a European time (GMT-1 to GMT+3)
b) have dieselpunk/cyberpunk theme. (WWII or modern espionage are good too)

What? I'm not going to hunt down the D&D 3.5e games that have been on here. There's a search function. Use it. The D&D games were an example, yes, many PnP RPG games are run on here.

So you do know what pathfinder is (most people say ".75", but I guess "a" or "e" works too.)
