From one side of the world to the other.
« on: March 10, 2013, 06:29:28 pm »

So I was thinking: why dont we gen A world 257* 17 and find A civilization that is closest too one end of the world: and then make the adventurer cross the entire world: through ocean's, mountains, and whatver the like: Dorf points for not using travel menu and along the way mark your path:wehter it was A specific biome, cave or town: leave somthing of value: like that book of necromancy, or A sliver spear too show that you were here

good idea?

Any other idea's?

That'd be fun: who wants too do it? I can do it myself but I want too see other people do it with me. ;D

You mean a succession DF Adventure mode?

Just note that regardless of civilization placement, your adventurer starts out at any human village as mountainhomes or forest retreats are not yet implemented in game.

Good luck with that though, you'd be coping with much much more than you realize when you see the world in as big as it is. :P

Sorry for double post :/

If anyone wants too know where you want too start and end at: here the picture

And yes: it is A succession adventure: if anyone wants too build A fortress on the map feel free and post it when you are done

I started around the tropic-zone: so you can do which ever way you want: on the very end it is scorching: so watch out.

This sounds interesting.

I'm going to do this too; though I'll gen my own world because my raws are fun.

[EDIT]Just finished genning one. Dwarves got wiped out in worldgen, so only legends and adventure mode are available. Perfect!
I'll either post updates here or make a new thread, just because I don't want to make it too confusing.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

OOC: OK, here goes with the Crossing the World thing; and sorry for the double post. I'll move this to a new thread, but I'll give you this as an introduction.

In the early spring of 128 in Tar Kisnast, the female human Ana of Shadupesor set out on a quest.
She gave herself the title World-wanderer, for that was what she aimed to do: walk from one end of The Continent of Humor to the other, on her own or with help, across bogs and marshes, deserts and trackless tundra, to see the great Necromancer-towers and the haunted swamps in the far east. Her home, the hamlet of Scribedrock in the Flowery Field, would one day hear the tales of her journey, when she returned.
She wore a handmedown dress, a tatty pair of sandals, and her father's old sword hung by her side.
She embarked on the adventure of a lifetime.

[MASSIVE_EDIT_OF_EDITINGNESS]My thread can be found here.
