McGaha Branch, Turn 5: Amazingly Not Dead
« on: March 10, 2013, 11:22:12 am »

The Orphan Strip. A 12-mile-wide area of land bordering Georgia and both Carolinas. No one wanted it for a while; it got shunted between the Cherokee and Congress for a bit, but neither wanted it due to being full of criminal scum. South Carolina didn't want it, so Congress gave it to its northern neighbor, who promptly ignored it.
Then, some Georgian governors got caught in criminal land deals, leading to Congress punishing them by forcing Georgia to govern the Orphan Strip. They made it a better place, calling it Walton County, and the Carolinas promptly decided they did want it, after all. This lead to...disagreements, which is where our world and this began to diverge.

In one world, the Battle of McGaha Branch was a minor affair, with only a handful of casualties and a couple dozen prisoners taken, all at Georgia's expense. In this world...well...

okay then, I looked up some other weapons from the time period and I think I'll have a French carbine (1793) instead. basically a close range, easy to reload musket.

same action.
