Confederation obviously supports both treaties, gains distrust of New Order and slight relations improvement with everyone else, but remaining mostly ambivalent.

The Sky Lords sign both agreements as well as nonaggression pacts with anyone who wants to. They also try to submit a Mutual Aid Pact, by which any nation in the Pact will aid any other nation in the Pact who is attacked.

The Khannite will additionally agree to sign both of these pacts.

Ozolynsh signs all the pacts, but seems more than a little unhappy about the 'countries without nukes cannot get them' bit. He mumbles about a loophole before packing up and leaving.

Nope.

The time has come to ramp up work on the program. This is a crucial step, and much of what we do here cannot be discussed even among us. Secure transmissions will be sent. Begin gathering and storing food and water. Gather and refine metal ores. We need as much metal as we can get, and supplies as well. Begin research on compact storage systems for use in spacecraft. Research full habitation modules for long-term maned spaceflight. Other instructions will be sent shortly.

Yearly Report: 2024

Status of the World

Political
Agreements made on the recent top shake world balance. Situation is slightly unstable untill the power balance reasserts itself.

Military
No major conflicts

Economical
Mineral prices soar, as North and Central African production plummets due to increased political instability.

Society
Recent MidSaharian droughts have resulted in many waterrefugees making their way North/South. Political instability increases.

Environemental
Environemental decay within normal parameters
Lessened radiation damage
High temperatures and droughts continue.

Major News
Horesh Kopesh Strikes again. Attempted assination of several Chinese Kings. Mostly failed.

Rebellion in the New Order? Little information, but some hints at a major internal chism.

Horesh Kopesh Under attack. Joint 80-15-5 Republic and Dominion initiative attacks HQ in Egypt. Succes unknown.

Spoiler: The Sky Lords (click to show/hide)
((Note: I have a tendency to forget what previous things were. Especially when those previous things are continuations of previous things.))
The Microwave transmitter is finally finished, despite the baking heat and the recent price surge of raw minerals. At the same time, reports come in, indicating that terrestial generated power can now provide up to 30% of your needs. This large surplus of power is immediatly used to power a new array of Thermoionic Water filtration plants.

Desalinating the soil is a more problematic issue. There are few efficient techniques, and they would require us to either give up a significant amount of farmland, or increase water useage tremendously.

Gravitational research doesn't progress really fast. Scientists ask for specialized facilities to work in.
Spoiler: Stuff (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: The New Order (click to show/hide)
The New order commences to store various goods, which helps drive up world resource prices. It also succesfully develops rotational gravity modules and pressurized cargo modules. They are not radiation proofed.

The old Nuclear engines are send of into outer space.

Spoiler: The 80-15-5 Republic (click to show/hide)

The temperatures remain stupidly high. Yet betterment is in sight. Construction of Desalination plants advances rapidly, and canals, pipes and other infrastructure works bring the water to the masses. Agriculture requires irrigation however, and this latter is causing some salination of the soil. Other troubles are the large powerdrain of this new infrastructure. Combined with high heat, blackouts are starting to become frequenter.

Meanwhile, in the Panama channel, the military base is constructed without problems.

The military moves into the slums in force, and thanks to wellprepared intelligence the heads of the Sicilian and Triad groups are easily captured. Without leadership, the latter these fall easily apart. The mexican drug Cartel agrees. With this military support, they quickly estabilish dominance in the sectors. Unrest dies down and economical activities restart. Most important of these is the Talon armament company.

No breakthrough is made on gravity research, though progress is made for spacefaring drones. While not being a space to orbit drone, the latest Autonomous combat unit can be launched into lower  orbits using a small booster section. It's armament is limited to 6 low yield missiles though.

Spoiler: Eirectic (click to show/hide)

The research projects continue. While the draft needs to be fairly limited for PR issues, it works, and the technology is perfected. The Sixth sense program doesn't make much progress however.
VR projects are equally succesfull, allowing semirealistic simulations to be made for a variety of purposes. The genemingling experiments are less than succesfull, due to a lack of direction. While moving genes from one species to another is possible, gene mingling and crossbreeding don't work.

Decontamination of the City of London is completed, while plans for a Third city are being drawn up. Meanwhile, all research facilities are equiped with automated drone defenses. Research thieves will need to be very handy to break through that.

The Scientists are transferred safely. Information of the Horus Khopesh group is scarce. They are a rightwing military group, but spread out all over the place. Their main base appears to be in Egypt.

Spoiler: Mongolian Empire (click to show/hide)
Laser technology makes little progress. However, the spaceprogram does, and is now entering a new phase of development. They think they should be able to reliably launch small sattelites now.
Shield technology gets an unexpected breakthrough, thanks to the discovery of the Holtzman effect, and the associated Holtzman generator. This special effect allows the formation of a high energy electroIonic shield. The air touching the shield is rapidly heated by the effect, resulting a thin layer of Ionized plasma surrounding the craft. The magnetic effect bounces away lowcaliber bullets
and detonates/disables missile weaponry. The results of firing a laser at a Holtzman generator are severe.  A concentrated laser beam can cause the field to rapidly collapses, trapping the craft in a shrinking ball of high temperature plasma. The ensuing explosion as the shield finally fails is quite severe too. Scientists speculate that the ionization of air to close to the generator is causing this fatal effect. Nevertheless, there's still a good bunch of other problems, like the high weight, high power use, high visibility, the tendency to shortcircuit any technology both inside and outside the craft, and the singing of crew trying to enter or exit the bubble.

Construction of infrastructure in both new and old terretories continues.

Investigation in the Horus Khopesh group delivers nothing. The only thing you can find is that they have no ties with China or any other of your neighbouring countries.

Spoiler: Stuff (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: USSA (click to show/hide)

Infrastructure improvements progress rapidly and without problems. Paratroopers squads are being trained, and the planes are rapidly constructed. Scientists also note the succesfull completetion of the Ground to Orbit Shatterer missile, which uses giant highspeed plastic flak to damage sattelites. A certain amount of collateral can't be avoided, but it will tear down all but the most heavely armoured sattelites. A basic comms sat is produced.

The RLV project makes a rapid breakthrough. While not completely original, your engineers propose a Nuclear powered hydrogen engine, similair to the Cereberus drives of the New Order.
Supply airships are being developped. While these will probably be adequate for munitions and fuel purposes, they still can't do repairs or maintenance.
All other projects continue apace, but no unexpected breakthroughs.

Construction of advanced fiber optic networks is problematic. Several of the minerals needed have jumped in price, and can't be acquired in the amounts needed.
A new launch facility is constructed, allowing rapid manufacturing, servicing and launching of spacecraft. It's location is still problematic, but slightly less so.
Work on the Advanced computer core progresses but slowly. As the amount of cores increases, the overhead increases too. This is highly problematic for an installation this size. There are also significant cooling problems, and the aforementioned metal shortage. Never mind that, the project is partially executed.

The scout's reports are dissappointing. Indonesia is wrecked by ecological troubles, apparently due to mass deforestation. Those send to New Zealand and the Phillipines never arrived, being gravely damaged in a storm. The one send to SE Asia was impolitely forced to turn around by jetfighters.
The acrologies are mostly fine, though have a tendency to function as heat islands, and the dust is particulary unpleasant. Adding to that, many people have expressed a desire for open countryside, peace and openness.

The advertisement is a succes. The Swiss Franc slowly begins to replace orphaned currencies worldwide. However, due to this unexpected succes, the inflation rate stagnates , and the Central bank can barely avoid deflation. They also warn that the Gold reserves, while large, aren't endless, and that excessive inflation can cause problems with the goldbacking.

Mining activityies increase. This helps ofset the increased price of minerals world wide. Restoration of power plants is a succes, though the fact that Switzerland does not posses any Uranium reserves troubles some. They fear that reliance on this powersource would threathen neutrality.

Research is a succes, and the economical theories are so complex nobody even knows how they work. Nevertheless, they appear to be more efficient than the last.
Minitiuriazation of nuclear systems is not succesfull for now.
The internet has served is purpose, and survived the cataclysm. While several of the main backbones are down, traffic has also decreased enormously. The network is damaged, but still fully operationall. An improved supercomputer is constructed.

Spoiler: Stuff (click to show/hide)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Major urban centers are being cleaned. The rubble is easily removed, as is the worst of the radiation. However, living here is still not possible.
The super computer is completed. While heatresistant materials turn up nothing, a small breakthrough results in the development of a more effective superconducter. It still needs to be cooled, but will work up to roughly 125 degrees Kelvin.

Hydroponics and topsoil remediation programs are started/continued, and mitigate problems. However water scarcity still wrecks havoc in agriculture.

The disease appears to be spreading together with the refugees. This might become pretty problematic. However, they aren't close (yet). Quarantaine is most easily enforced if people don't want to break out. The establishment of various stockpiles with goods allows quarantained subareas to survive comfortably for some time.

The past year for the dominion, on most accounts, had been their weakest, compared to the strong economic expansion within the previous years. Still, by all accounts that still held great promise to the Dominion's leading officials; If their weakest year was still marked with success, and it's failures were due to unforseen outside circumstances, they had proven themselves to be more able than many of the governments pre-bombing.

They would always continue to strive to do better though, while the mineral shortages had slowed progress on it's infrastructural plans, those would not be stopped so easily. ((Note: The following post may be edited due to the new system.))
