Use some of our creativity to make a somewhat long pole with a hook capable of opening the machine. This could also double for a weapon.

Ask Figura to open it. Take Curio to the other room.

Seeing the results of our meditation, I am finding myself worrying over what would happen if we ever have a nightmare. We might accidentially create whatever we dream about, as we did with the knife.
I never thought of that. Crap.

This game is friggin' terrifying.

"Hey, Figura, can you open this?"
"Yes."

It turns out to be boring--just some kind of small, solid metal bar.

Determine its edibility.

Have to make sure. What about getting your daily iron intake?

Is it inedible to Figura as well?

Try to fix the hot plate, toast might get us better results then plain bread. Also, if we are female, we have a milk source if we feel nasty. Probably won't work, GM does not seem like that, but it is worth a try.

Ask Figura to eat the metal bar, if she feels hungry. Fix hot plate. Create some form of renewable food source. Try meditating again.

+1 to reattempting meditation. See if Figura can eat the metal. Try creating some kind of hydrocarbon synthesizer to make food.

You contemplate testing the metal bar for edibility, before asking Figura about that.

"Hey, Figura, can you eat this?"
"I'm not sure if I can eat ANYTHING.

Time for other stuff. First: See if we can fix the hot-plate.
[20+2][-1 Creativity] The Hot-Plate is working again! Next, let's make some kind of food-maker. Again. A hydrocarbon synthesizer, perhaps. [7,20;4][-2 Creativity] You create a normal pot. Darn it! [14][-1 Creativity] Stupid die. Well, the inside of the pot is pretty greasy, that's a start... [18][-1 Creativity] You see that the pot is slowly filling with a black, greasy, oily thing. You decide to call it oil.

Perhaps this could have been avoided if you had mastered basic chemistry?

Alright, you've got enough Creativity to try making some other food-maker.
[20,3;20] [-2 Creativity] You create a wooden spoon. A very nice wooden spoon.

Finally: Meditate.
[10-5][-1 Creativity, +1 Confusion] You just can't concentrate, and nothing makes sense. It doesn't help that Figura interrupts you.

Talk to the robed man. If he attacks, hit him with our pick, VERY hard.  Sniff paint until full creativity, eat the soylent green on the altar.
