I personally think you should throw away your preconceptions Leatra, I think they are honestly going with an entirely different plotline.

My personal theory is that this is going to be a story about superficiality and the nature of our own actions.

Especially highlighted because the world doesn't react to the "Intent" of your actions but rather just the actions themselves.

I guessed as much since the game takes place in a different universe but still, if a game says, "we are gonna try to go for something like Planescape: Torment" you can't help but have high expectations about it.

Although, I had some disappointments with some games which regarded itself as a "spiritual successor" to well known (and some of them underrated) best games of all time.

Looks pretty good for what they show in the site. I like their pseudo-alignment system.

But yet again, it always seems better on the site that when you get the game. We'll see how it works.

Well they started their stretch goals and they are... mostly intangible.

I have a feeling they didn't think about them too much.

Then again they did earn their funding rather quickly and are likely to earn their second stretch goal... pretty much before I wake up.

Yeah, that's the other thing that got me hooked. This should provide a better way to characterize the PC. In most games, you are either evil or good.

I am a bit worried because Obsidian still hasn't delivered the other kickstarter and they are already going after another.

Yeah but we don't know how much overlap the teams have. Obsidian may be large enough to have room for two games... or it has employees of both games who don't need to work on it for the entire time (which is common for some games)

Well this looks interesting. I'm not sure whether to pledge them money or just wait for the game to actually come out for reals.

Really all I'm trying to decide is if I want physical rewards for an IP I haven't followed...or just get a lower digital tier so I can get the game on the cheap.

This isn't Obsidian, it's InXile.  Also, they fully explain their reasoning for this move, as well as the situation regarding employee allocation.

"There is a perfectly logical explanation for that........................"
"ooook"

Joke aside, what was their reasoning?

Joke aside, what was their reasoning?

They didn't need so many system developers for the first project anymore, so they moved them to a new project rather than fire them.
