From what I seen with these Godgames is that the GM get overwhelmed with how much stuff is happening. Perhaps maybe there should be a barrier that will limit how much the Gods could interact with the world.

Funnily enough, Deep Waters and I have actually been working on our own god game in recent days (hopefully there isn't so much of an influx lately that the forum burns out on them!)

Instead of starting you off with a blank void out of which you build worlds, however, we're actually building a world (partially via random generators and edited for coherence and playability, to reduce GM load) for you to invade and consequently break; and to avoid the clusterfuck that's sprung up in Pantheon, players won't (at least at first, and/or without severe consequences) be able to attack each other directly.

An interest check/OOC thread will go up as soon as we finish getting the basic mechanics and essential fluff written up, which will hopefully be either today or tomorrow.

Yay. Then I can actually play a pacifist god without horrible death coming to me. At least, not without the perpetrator ending up about as screwed as I would be.

Please do.

I think a Pantheon-like god game could benefit from restricting gods taking corporeal form and corporeal attacks, using their powers more to grant favors to mortals and affect the world in more subtler ways. This way we could avoid the big gods annihillating every mortal player they're even slightly displeased with.

Agreed. Perhaps after current disaster is over we instigate a barrier of all the slaughter gained acts to make this. but enough on Pantheon.
