LinkEarth, 2021
The end of one of the most foreboding and troubling decades in human history, and things are looking bleak. Having barely recovered from severe financial crisis, humanity was in for a ride. Global unrest grew as scandals were uncovered, and panick was everywhere. Revolutions spread from the middle East outwards, following the wake of the global debt crisis. Not even the largest and most modern nations were spared. This geopolitical unrest caused another resource crisis, which came to it's hight in 2019, when millions died in one of the coldest winters on Earth. The old world trembled, but not even the Asian Giants escaped. Economical destabilization weakened the regimes, and revolts became more common by the day. In the following riots, millions died once more. And then, on that faithfull day, December 2020, the crude winter was rudely stopped by an atomic light.
A unknown terroristic organisation managed to bomb the world's most important cities, on the same day, same minute. All major governemental organisations are little more than dust in the air now, and the old world order is replaced by a new, rising from the kindling ashes of the old.
A RP game akin to Godhood and all those others, but set in a modern world and with nations rather than gods. Something like the Old Presidency, I suppose.
Creativity and description are encouraged, and are often mandatory. Saying Improve Industry will get you no more than becoming world's largest producent of toothbrushes for whales, for example.
This game will probably involve quite a lot of alliances and backstabbing, so please be quite relaxed if you get nuked.
See for example the sheet below. It looks complicated, but is entirely optionall, just make sure I know what your nations good points are, what it looks like, and which problems it could face in the future
Pretty much our world, but set sometime in the future and with tactical nuke strikes against the old governements to spice stuff up, and allow people to create their own nations rather than picking the world's superpowers. Freedom is a guarantee, but keep things limited to normal tech and physically possible stuff. At least for the beginning of the game.
