Or join a bigger group like Folk ARPS - I think they're doing a weekly A3 "test" session on Saturdays, if I am not mistaken, sometime evening GMT, afternoon EST.

As a reminder for those interested, the alpha will be ending soon and going into beta. The price may rise during the transition, so now may be the last time you see ARMA 3 at a price this low until steam sales kick in.

Additionally, those who were playing with free Alpha invites will no longer be able to do so, so now is the time to decide whether you want to get it or not.

This is now officially in beta. Some features that are new in the Beta:

"Indfor" team, also known as team Green.
A slew of new weapons, including 2 SMGs, a machinegun (unsure if it's an MMG or AR yet), and some basic weapons to fill out Indfor's armory like a rifle and a pistol. Also, a 'titan' anti-tank and anti-air launcher available for all sides.
New vehicles, including for Blufor: a truck, an APC, an attack rotary wing craft, and a transport helicopter.
A new truck shared by IND and RED.
Unique to Redfor is a transport/gunship rotary wing craft and an APC, while Indfor gets their own transport chopper and MRAP (think "super humvee").

You can see more info here

I'm going in-game to try some of these things out but I also need to check my controls and video options first.

EDIT: What the hell. The Zafir looks like an FN FAL in beast mode.

So, Altis finally dropped on the Dev branch, and goddamn is she a beauty. Sorry Stratis, but I don't think I'm ever going to go back to you after experiencing this. I reccomend the Whole Lotta Altis mod on the workshop to expereince it. The mission is glitchy at best, but when it functions, you have all sorts of battles all over the island. I can't seem to get it to work now though, so an update may have broken it.

I do, occasionally. I'm surprised there hasn't been a Bay 12 regiment formed yet, honestly.

Or there probably has, and I'm not attentive enough to notice.

That is odd yes.
I played on some rp servers but those get pretty boring after while.
New mission thing is patrol ops. Really encourages team work on randomly generated missions. Fun really.
Still haven't seen any nice missions what was in OFP made to Arma series :(
Sooo... i start messing up again in editor and look if can come up something fun to do coop with.
Shoot some ideas people if have any.

I've seen some nice city assaults, but I'd like to see a city siege! Like very protracted, the entire mission takes place around the city. Or a dynamic war thingy but only for a city!

What about using Zeus? Where you develop the mission on the go, as players are playing it, instead of pre-preparing it?

I thought it was already out?

Zeus is out but it is good only for putting stuff up.
Anyone can do fast skirmish with that

I am planning to do more as objective vise and story driven with nice planning of structures.
There is maps from Arma2 but the file is huge :(
