By the way, you can probably install from the disk if you have a disk. Check out the steam support page.

I could have bought a disk?
Anyway, I'm after the supporter edition. Which is only on the BI store. So...

I don't know if you can have disks, just that if you CAN buy one, you don't have to download it.

I don't think you can buy a disk, sorry :)

I got it through the BIS store, and it's also the top seller on Steam at the moment.

It plays really nicely. We just did a little launch party at Folk ARPS, and it has much better visuals for similar performance. I am very, very curious as to how it will hold up with lots of AI. That's my main concern, as I've already had it dip into <20fps in a relatively small mission. Anyways, here's to hoping :)

The BIS store is down because apparently they didn't predict the flood of traffic and so they've taken it down for maintenance. I'm not sure if I can believe that.

I'm really hoping it's up by the time I get home, I almost got to he final step before going to work but no luck. If it's still diwn I'll probably have to go get it through steam. =(

Welp, it turns out that the BIStudio store only sells the Supporter Edition. Unfortunately, I don't have that kind of money, so I'm going to just have to buy from Steam. Sorry, BIStudio, but you don't get all my moneys.

The store cant handle all the sales...so they restricted it to supporter edition only...I think they are fine on the financial front XD

Got it on steam. I wanted a disk version, or at least a steam free version from the BI store but since both of those are completely out of the question for me now I figured I'd get it while it's cheap.

Not looking forward to wade through my steam friends list again just to play a damn game.

Delete all of your Steam friends and/or just ignore them.
I have something like 3 friends on Steam and I barely talk to any of them apart from the one I know in meatspace.
