Tio Volatis

"Kathryn, the creature that you currently see is a Plomethian Flying Jellyfish. It originates from Umatisch space and was introduced in the Human space 60 years ago. The PFJ is a non-hostile creature, which feeds on fruits, small rodents and small fish. It is also known to have a craze for sweets.

They are also commonly held as pets, due to their docile nature. You know that a PFJ likes an individual when it starts glowing red-pink. The tentacles are only harmful for small creatures, human will feel an very weak sting at best. Though the PFJ can choose whether it wants to sting a animal or human.

Do you want to know more?"

Scapheap(Clair Adams)
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Keep my gun trained on it.
(Fixed the typo)
(-): Firmly you hold the gun at the jellyfish, following every movement of the jellyfish in case it will try to do something.

Dwarmin(Kathryn Fry)
((@Mr. Zero: Yes, I would like a full functionality report on the scanner! In pm if possible...

Also, important question-how big is this Jellyfish thing? :P))

Kathryn had been fiddling with her new device, learning it's functions, when she spotted the strange creature...it was quite beautiful, in fact. And she had no doubt, it could be deadly. Those tentacles looked like they were for catching prey...

She was sure the computer could hear her, so Kat whispered "Computer, we've encountered some sort of lifeform...long tentacles, hollow inside, flesh-colored, similar in structure to phylum Cnidaria but floating in open air. Recommendations?"

Action: Ask teh computer! Also, stay away from those tentacles.

Edit: Scan the strange Goo coming from the critter with my new medwhatever!

(-): Kathryn is fascinated by the creature, but still wary that it could be deadly. With her new device, she find a small puddle of the slime. The easy interface allows her to pick the analyze option, and so a small stick ejects from the side.

'''Please rub the testing stick over or in the substance you want to analyze.'

You take the stick, and give it a whirl in the slime. Followed by sticking it back into the device.

"Analyzing....

Analyze finished.
The substance name is unknown, it is organic from nature.
It's a high concentration of water, and plant enzymes.
THe substance contains healing properties, to be specific.
Rubbing the substance over a wound will enhance the healing rate.
Ingestion is discouraged, but if ingestion happens there will be no lethal side-effects except vomitting.

....
Name unknown substance?
Y?  N?"

Hmm.. apparently you can name the substance since it is not known in the current database of the device. You decide to think about and ask whether Aurora knows what this thing could be.

[Look in the Tio volatis Tab]

penguinofhonor (Doris Finnegan)
Doris whispers, "It doesn't look too dangerous. Jellyfish are supposed to be kinda slow, right?"

Take a step back, waiting for the thing's reaction to the candy bar or more information from the computer.
(-): The jellyfish eats the candy bar and glows pink-red, you also hear whatever Aurora had to say about the said creature. it seems that John made a jellyfish friend.

Spaghetti7(Kurtis Blake)
Kurt motions to the team to remain quiet.

Throw my bone past the alien.
(-): You grab your bone and throw it past the alien lifeform, it changes to a very light greenish color but doesn't really react to it in any other way. In fact, it moves slightly away from the bone. It seems that this jellyfish is not interested in un-edible substances.

Rolepgeek(Johnathan 'Hefter' Hennson)
((Where did he get a gun?))

"I wonder..." John takes out the candy bar, stares t it for a second, then crouches down, and slides it so it'll end up a little in front of the creature.

See above.
(-): You take the candybar and unwrap it, carefully you slide it under the jellyfish. The jellyfish takes notice of the candy bar as it slowly hovers above it and grabs the bar with the tentacles. Slowly you can see the candy bar being eaten by the jellyfish. The Jellyfish glows red-pink and starts approaching you.

Oh god.

Persus13(James Macalroy)

(-):nada here, or i missed it.

Kat laughed a bit.

"Don't worry guys, the computer says it's harmless to humans-apparently it likes sweets and makes friend easily, and only stings if it wants to. Also, that weird goo is some sort of medicinal balm. Since it's glowing like that, looks like you made a new friend John."

Tio Volatis

Everyone walks to the Hangar, while John i stuck with the Jellyfish and Kathryn goes to store some of the goo stuff.

Upon entering the Hangar, you are immediately greeted by the vast size of the Hangar. You clearly see 3 ships, ready to take off. Aurora says that those are the escape shuttles.

At the other end of the hangar, you see with big red letters and a warning sign. 'Armory', that's where you probably should go to. There are scattered crates in the hangar, 3 of them are opened.

Action: Possibly backtrack and find some sort of jar or container to store the Kolto in.

Otherwise, move on with the party when ready.

(-): You tap in the new name name and...

"Substance name added to database, please synchronize the device with the nearest link to permanently save it..."

You tap a few buttons requesting some further information about the substance.

"The Substance nicknamed "Kolto" by doctor ???.
Apart from having medicinal abilities, the substance is quite temperature proof.
Analyze tests show that the the substance remains good from -4 C to 40 C.
If the substance dips below -4, the substance will start forming ice crystals, which will destroy the remedial abilities.
If the substance rises above 40C, the substance will start evaporating water. Leaving behind the rest of the chemical components.
The residue is toxic if ingested in any way.

Analyze tests also show that with some minor modifications the medicinal effects can be enhanced. This requires a bio-technic lab."

(5!): Now that you know more, you actually would like to store Kolto for future use. You quickly run back to the animal chambers. The room still has the sinister look like before.

You start looking around for any containers and manage to find some glass food jars in the lower cabinets. You take 2 smaller jars, one is half full with some kind of animal food and the other one is empty. You take the the half filled one, in hope that you can see more responses from the Jellyfish.

Returning to the group, you see John. Which is still busy with the Jellyfish and he mentions that the group moved forward and found the hangar. You fill the empty jar, half full with Kolto.

You gained 2 jars, 1 half-filled with food, 1 half filled with Kolto.

penguinofhonor (Doris Finnegan)

"Why is it glowing? Guys?"

Back up slowly, watching as the jellyfish grows nearer...
(-): Afraid that the Jellyfish will do something, you start going backwards while watching at the jellyfish. Though, when Kathryn tells you that the Jellyfish is harmless and that it actually likes you. Your worries go away, but you still have an uneasy feeling. The Jellyfish is now right beside you hovering slightly above your chest height.

The Jellyfish moves one of it's tentacles towards you..
Ahh..
The Jellyfish starts touching you with the tentacle... it kinda feels like snake-skin and the jellyfish still glows pink-red. You get the mental image of the Jellyfish saying "Friend... Friend!"

Well, whatever happens now. I don't think i can get rid of the Jellyfish.

Persus13(James Macalroy)
Ignore the jellyfish, and continue moving forward holding my metal pipe.

Kat walked over to the shuttle-ships, running her hand on the hull.

She felt a certain sense of wonder, she knew was misplaced. In these times, such tiny ships must be common-but to her, it was new. It was the stars that were calling...to explore.

And what was space but another sea to sail upon?

Action: Investigate the shuttles and their interiors, learning about how they work. Ask the computer for any help I need.

Kurtis takes a look at the crates in the hanger. If it's nothing interesting, he moves to the armoury.
