If you're ever looking for some nice clean water but you can't find any or it's winter and everything is frozen solid ice/snow. Don't worry. All you need to do is pick up some snow or ice (doesn't matter they work the same). Start a Campfire ( Hit g and select (Make Campfire) <Direction Here> choose which direction you want to put the fire and if you don't have any prompts that allow you to just move a couple spaces in any direction or move away from any walls, trees, and boulders and that should help)
make an Advanced Interaction ( Shift + i ) And select the snow/ice from where ever you put it and it will give you a prompt (Heat snow/ice near Campfire <Direction> and select. BAM you have Water.
Note: You should be standing right next to the fire in order to get the prompt the fire won't spread to all you're precious clothing and skin and i've tried walking on the campfire (which you can't by the way) and slept near it for an entire night so i think you're pretty safe and the smoke that the fire emits doesn't hurt either. But this water isn't going to simply stay unfrozen so drink quickly otherwise you'll have to re-heat it using the same method described above.
Also i was also able to warm up my buchered meat on the fire but there was no noticable affect (Giant Crow Meat was used). I am still not sure if the warming (cooking?) effects on food is not added/to be added soon or im being a knucklehead (probably both). Hope this help's with massive Tundra's or the freezing winter month's (If you last that long that is).
