they're possible, and so is the plating, but the gold still makes them softer and suck at carrying an edge. the club (or bullet) potential is honestly the one that legit worries me. even those are really expensive and unusual though. gold just plain isn't cheap.

odds on my primary threat will be the simple fact that i have no offensive abilities. if i'm not careful i could certainly be immobilized or captured.
Well, you can take heart in this, bullets, thus physical shell ammo for weaponry, doesn't seem to exist. Slings, arrows/bolts/ballistae bolts, and clubs would be the only thing to really worry you, I believe. Possibly spears too.
also any form of earthmoving magic/mutation is a major threat, also clever use of water/air manipulation could cause suffocation/drowning, also crystal energy could destabilize my mutation and make me lose the invuln. also superstrength+superendurance could simply walk up, grab me, and walk away and there's nothing i could do about it, etc etc etc.

speaking of which, i don't think i want any additional mutations. i got REALLY lucky on this roll set and i see no reason to risk losing it, even if odds on the change would be beneficial.

Try to avoid the crystals then.

Technology is really low. Unless it's a laser weapon, tech is powered by magic if it wasn't there in the dark ages. This is my explanation if guns or helicopters or anything like that shows up.

I'll roll some sort of dice for weapons, unless I get wwolin to make a modified version of his loot generator. Gold weapons are kindof dumb, and that's why I wrote in that you found out by someone chucking a thing of gold at you.

The Dark Ages but with Lasers motif is slowly looking like a better and better idea as I read this. Now to start thinking of a plausible explanation for why they discovered super-heated light before they figured out plate-armor or crossbows.

I like a challenge. Oh, wait. Historical precedent did it for me. Archimedes invented a mirror designed to redirect and focus light into a beam capable of burning enemy ships at great distances, in this world, he actually succeeded by using a new method to increase the reflective properties of the metal so as to actually create the laser. Done.

Now to start working out what kind of home world would create flying pig monsters...

((Why am I trying to make sense of an RTD? Oh, right. Derm isn't here yet, it's still possible.))

Skylar charges towards the enemy with a yell. Skylar pauses to decide which Parahuman to attack. The first looks normal, but the second one appears to have extra joints in his limbs. The third has an extremely long neck, armored scales and reptile claws instead of feet. The final parahuman has disappeared. Chin charges towards the normal-looking parahuman, (4 vs. 1) his reflective skin blinding the parahuman, before grabbing him and pushing him with his back tentacles to the ground (3) Only causing slight pain to the parahuman.

Yakob sees a person pushed to the ground and decides to sit on him. (1 vs. 3) The guy he was about to sit on makes a punching motion, and a ghostly hand shoots out and misses Yakob, but his unbalanced self falls over anyway. The ghost hand guy laughs at your pain.

Fern moves to where he can see the four people clearly. He attempts to move water around in one of the parahumans, and (2) doesn't see any noticeable difference.

Erin takes off, flying above the attackers, and looks down. She feels her mind get invaded as the fourth parahuman tries to cloud her mind. (3) The parahuman manages to avoid being sucked into the horror portal, but Erin can see him. Seeing no golden weapons, Erin dive bombs the fourth para-human. (3 vs. 4) Her dive bomb attempt fails, as the parahuman sends a spear flying up at her, but she avoids it.

hachnslay talks to his boss, then realizes he got knocked out right after he saw his boss and woke up in the military base. (apologies for the confusion)

Adrik takes cover, thinking this isn't his problem. (3) Then a very angry knight shows up with some guards saying that it is his problem.

The first mutant concentrates. (6) He starts emitting some sort of fog. Skylar (3) gets a whiff and starts coughing. He realizes backing up is going to be a good idea.

The second mutant says some magic words, (4) sending a fireball at Yakob. (2 vs. 3) He misses.

The third parahuman (3) attacks some soldiers. (1 vs. 2) The soldiers jab a spear at him.

The fourth parahuman concentrates, (4) and a large rock lifts off the ground and starts flying around.

Charge backwards at Mutant 2, using my ass as a shield and my spatial sense to direct me toward him.
"I have to ASS you a question!"
Sit on him, crushing his skull.

regain altitude and attempt to make mutant 4 lose line of sight on me (it's nighttime, i might as well use it), then (succeed or fail) make another attempt to dive on top of him, preferably from behind or directly above.
if i manage to knock him out, stay on top of him and check if my teammates are doing ok. aid any that seem to be in trouble.
if i manage to knock him down but don't manage to knock him out, attempt to strangle him while keeping my body weight on him to try to pin him to the ground.
if i miss completely (again), accept the resulting high-speed landing to get into meele with him, grab him, and try to pin him to the ground. do not let go of him once i grab him.

"Sorry mister, but you're grounded."

Choke the throat of the first parahuman as tightly as possible, and turn into plexiglass, freezing myself in postion.

Steal as many of the guard's possessions as possible and hurl them at mutant #2.

going berserk would be a bad thing right now ...
Single out the enemy closest to me and use my telepathy to mess with it's vision. Make it appear as if multiple copies of my friends are attacking him from all sides. Never get them hit, as they inexplicably evade all attacks

Mythbusters showed that, barring precision most likely unavailable to those in such times, you couldn't burn a ship with a bunch of mirrors if it was on dry land and made from the most flammable ship-building materials you could find. I think that their modern-precision model didn't fare much better. Also, that would be impossible (or pretty much so) to make in a personal-weapon version even if it did work.
Just say "Magic crystals," and be done with it.

((you might want to include a pun GWG and hachnslay))

((EDIT: regarding the mirrors thing, the fact that their modern version didn't work is evidence that their tests were invalid. it can most certainly be done with modern tech, and if they couldn't do it with modern tech then of course their limited resource method didn't work.))

They did it with what was available.
Their "modern tech" version was basically a sheet of carefully-angled mirrors pointed at a fake ship, with careful calculations done. Nothing much happened, although I think they heated it up a little.

It's been a while since I've seen any Mythbusters episode, especially those older ones.

Xantalos charges Mutant 2, using his rear end as a shield. (5 vs. 1) Xantalos knocks the Mutant down and sits on his face, causing the mutant to die of asphyxiation.

Lenglon tries to get out of Mutant 4's sight. (2+1) The mutant keeps looking upward searching, but Lenglon thinks she managed to lose him. She dives down on the mutant from behind. (1 vs. 6) Turning, the mutant puts on a golden pair of brass knuckles (gold knuckles) and proceeds to knock you out of the sky with two punches, and putting you in severe pain. (you would have died if it weren't for the invulnerable to weapons thing) The parahuman stares down at his gold knuckles and sees that they've been bent out of shape. Before you pass out, you notice that his hair is appearing to recede into a buzz cut, and his clothes are turning to camouflage.

Skylar charges the first human and (1) promptly starts vomiting violently. His intention to attack the first human is lost, only his desire to escape, as he is also in great pain.

Adrik grabs the (2) guard's belt, but the guard then points his laser at Adrik. The second mutant is dead anyway, so Adrik tells the guard what he was going to do and the guard lowers his laser.

Hachnslay looks for a mutant to try something out. He sees the first parahuman standing over Skylar's body, Xantalos sitting on the second one, and the third one fighting some soldiers. He decides to mess with the vision of the first one. (2+1) The first one looks up at Hachnslay as Hachnslay sends it images of people dying and getting hurt. Unfortunately, the parahuman seems to enjoy that sort of thing, however the parahuman is distracted. (the thing you tried to do is more of an illusion than a telepathic ability)

Fern, seeing that the mage is dead, uses his powers to target the first parahuman. "Timber" he yells before attempting to cause a tree to fall on the mutant. (2 vs. 6) The first mutant sends a ghostly punch at you as you cause the tree to move at him, but the feeling of being lifted off the ground, having the wind knocked out of you, and then hitting a wall 5 feet behind you distracts you from completing what you were doing. You are in a lot of pain.

(i thought these guys were going to be an easy first group)

The first mutant sends a ghostly punch at Skylar (1 vs. 1) He accidentally punches himself in the face and Skylar slips even further into the toxic fog in an attempt to escape.

The third parahuman tries to kill a guard with the spear. (2 vs. 5) The guard puts magic handcuffs on him and ties him to a tree.

The fourth parahuman sends the rock flying towards (4) the vomiting Skylar. (6 vs. 2) Skylar's head is bashed in by the rock putting him out of his misery. (deaths will happen often in this game)

The stereotypical british general knight guy turns towards one of the backup mutants he collected. Comrade Joe Bridger walks out of his cage living quarters.
The general studies Comrade's report.
Comrade Bridger strange physical features is that he (she?) has cilia covering his whole party. Knowing what pronoun to address Comrade is difficult as Comrade is Transgendered. Comrade's main power is causing others to grow or shrink by touching them Affects have been found to last for up to half a day. Comrade is a fast leaner at technical and mechanical skills, and has a good sense of space, being able to judge trajectory well, and easily memorize interior areas.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The first mutant begins to tear off parts of Skylar's body and begins to eat them.
