Fiasco
« on: February 26, 2013, 10:32:26 pm »

So, I've recently been going on a Wheaton binge and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXJxQ0NbFtk
It's him, playing Fiasco and it is glorious. Fiasco is a freeform RP game, with a ton of different starting scenarios. The video probably explains it better, and there's one of them setting up that's also instructive.

So, who wants to play some Fiasco?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Sorry.

Anyways, while I haven't watched all of Will's video yet, the intro makes it sound neat...

Cool. That's 4, which is a pretty good number of players.
Now, we need to choose what set we want to run.
Bully Pulpit Games releases a new playset every month, and almost all of them are amazing. You can find them here. Personally, I personally like Last Frontier, but we can look at a few of them before choosing.

Just looking at the summaries, my top picks would be Heroes of Pinnacle City or Quest for the Golden Panda (might be my top top pick), though anything is fine, really.

Alright, good.

Have you guys watched the setup video they made? I highly suggest it. I'll roll some dice.

I watched the first half this morning, and the second half this afternoon/prevening. Part of why I got to the forums later today.

Alright, first we need relationships. We need the dice... so here we go. Courtesy of random.org:

White:
2x 3x 1x 2x
Black:
2x 1x 1x 3x 1x

So we need a relationship between each neighboring player, so Scelly9->Wyrm->Kadzar->scrapheap->Scelly9, and a detail for each relationship. Details are Locations, Objects, or Needs, and there needs to be at least one of each. The final die is wild, and can be any number. Names happen after everything else is generated.

And according to Random.org scrapheap is first to do something. You're up.

Actually, your only supposed to do the first part of the relation ship, so ally(1). However what you did is fine, since if you had done that, I would have chosen forced alliance anyway. Wyrm, you're up.
