[What happened to that genki beam thing?]

The different arenas all take place in separate times, spaces and existences. So no Genki here.

Oh no!
Fancy rushes over to BM's side.
Don't talk, boy, I'll just have to put you out of your misery.

Euthanize BM. With my sword.

Game II- Round 9: Rivals

A distressed Fancy McMonocle runs up to the wounded Beautiful Man. "Oh dear! You're done for boy." He kneels down besides him, "You had one hell of a fight left in you though, I'll give you that." He pats BM on the head, and then stands up, brandishing his sword. "I'll make you sure you die quickly and painlessly, like a true warrior. Just stay still." The mustache golem stabs at his gentleman rival, (3+1 vs. 2+1) At the last second, Beautiful Man comes to his senses and rolls away, getting instead stabbed in the arm, as opposed to the torso. (-3 HP) "I told you to stay still son! It's going to hurt so much more this way."

Hoyt Foreman turns to the audience: "Ah, 'ow tha' was a roight goo' kill. Its a cryin' shame we gotta foight 'ach otha to da death, I'd buy 'ou all a round jus' fo this!" He puts his hands up, lifting his hammer into the air. "WA' DO YAH WANNA SEE! CARNAGE, DAT'S ROIGHT! OI GO' ME AN HEAD FULL O' MAD, AND A HAND FULL O' 'SMASHIN'! IF'IN I LIVE AN' ANY O' THESE OTHA FOIN CHAPS LIVE, FREE DRINKS FOR THEM ALL! ALL FO' A GOO' SHO'!" (5) He gets a standing ovation and cheering. "THAS' WA' I'M TALKIN ABOU'!"
Hoyt Foreman appeals to the crowd!
He gains 3 Points!

Ed Mundy Jr. gives Chell a prayer as he climbs down the tree, legitimately a bit sad at what he had to do. But winning was the most important thing, and he couldn't let anyone stand in his way.

However, John Steinbeck was fine with being a huge obstacle in Ed Mundy Jr.'s path. He lines his scope up with Ed, and is enthralled by a quiet rage, held by the fact that the Australian had killed Chell Lionmane, the girl he intended to protect. But maybe he could get some revenge, as Ed had his back to John climbing down the tree. John held his breath, and give the trigger a firm squeeze. (6+1+1 vs. 2) Just as Ed finished his decent, he was struck in the back by an arrow. The force slammed him against the tree, and into the ground, inches of steel and wood penetrating his vitals. He was done for...(-9 HP) Except he wasn't. With willpower, he pushed himself up and into a sitting position, the arrow hanging out of his back. He turned to Steinbeck to flash him a grin. "You wanna' play, mate?"

Beautiful Man stood up, throwing Fancy McMonocle off of him. "Get away from me! I can't die yet! The money!" Fancy McMonocle turned angry for the first time in the match. "You are here to die like a gentleman sir, and whether you want that end or not, it's what I will gladly give you!" Beautiful Man turned around and sprinted for the nearest tree, Fancy McMonocle trailing right behind him. (2) BM grabbed onto the tree and hoisted himself up, but the first branch collapsed under his weight and he fell to the ground, though on his feet. He turned to face Fancy, gripping his broadsword in both hands. "I'LL MAKE A MAN OUT OF YOUR CORPSE!"

And if things couldn't get worse for Beautiful Man, Bobo the Monkey runs up to him and attempts stealing his shield. (1 vs. 6+1) Instead, he receives a good kick from BM. (3-1 vs. 5) The monkey goes flying towards Fancy McMonocle, who has to duck to dodge it. Taking opportunity of the diversion, Beautiful Man sprints farther into the forest.

"How come he's still alive?" Steinbeck mutters before reloading, still safe in the tree.

[Question, in this post it states that one can attack someone in a tree as the person in a tree can attack them. I imagine you just mean ranged attacks?

Random note, amusing how some of the speech relates so well in this comic to this. Taken out of context and put into new context, that is. More quoting of Doom Guy! The High Rollin' Train Ain't Got No Breaks!]

Hoyt basks in the cheers of the crowd, the chanting of his name. Ah, he should of done this long ago! Would probably of been better for society if he had as well. Either way, with the widest silly grin one could get on their face, he watches the mustache golem and the fleeing beat-the-hell up guy go at it. Using his hammer as an over-sized pointer, he jabbed it in their direction. "OI! MUSTACHEO! FINISH UP YER FOIGHT WIT DAH SNIFFILIN' GUY, OI GOT A PROPASITION FER YAH! OI WANT DIS HERE MATCH TA BE WON BY AH REAL MAN, NOT A WUSSIE WIT A GUN! OI WAN' DAH LAST FOIGHT IN THIS 'ERE MATCH TA BE YOU AN ME! TAH GIVE 'EM A ROIGHT GOO' SHOW! NAT SOOM GUYS SHOOTIN' AT EACH OTHA LIKE COWARDS, BUH BY REAL MEN IN GLORIOUS MELEE! WOT YOU SAY?!" Foreman practically shouted at the mustached construct.

[This is pretty much the closest of an alliance Hoyt will ever offer, which is less of an alliance more of a "I want to be the one to fight you for the win" kind of thing.]

Hoyt, fueled on by the crowd's cheers, feels emboldened and rushes towards the man in the tree! "'Ou's dah man, Oi'm dah man! Oi'm ah bad man! Ow' bad? Twelv' poin' 'o onna ten poin' scale oh badditude! Don' need no gun, guns 'er fer weak'lins!" Hoyt will climb the tree rapidly, smash the weak'lin outta the tree with his hammer, and if possible jump out of the tree himself on top of the newly smashed-out-of-the-tree dude in black. Unless said target winds up already out of the tree when he gets there, in which case just smash'im.

No, it applies to all characters. Even if you're melee you can still throw things at them.

Also, can you specify which man in tree? Since next turn there may be multiple men in trees.

[Edited, sorry about that.

Also, eh, would prefer to attack him in GLORIOUS MELEE as that would wind up better. So thus the "Climb up tree, smash him out of tree, jump on him when he hits the ground for ultimate damage" plan is a go.]

Do you think you could go for someone else? He's kind of my priority right now.
