It is pretty much the fastest prop climber the Americans have right now, though the F7F may end up faster.

I dunno, that P38 just looks vastly underweaponed for a heavy fighter. And heavy fighter's only good things are speed, toughness, diving and weaponry.

I mean 1 20mm and 4 machineguns, even 4 12mm's on a heavy fighter at tier II-III ? It makes the Bf110 look overpowered in the guns department.

Even with these rockets on...

The American .50-cal M2 Browning is so ridiculously strong in-game right now you don't even need the Hispano on the P-38G.
Unless you're flying Arcade, of course. But that's a silly place.

Also keep in mind that the American 20mm is pretty damn strong. It compares pretty favorably to later Hispano variants.

Let's do some questioning.

What is, in your opinion :

- Most broken Plane
- Most OP nation
- Worst Nation
- Most OP plane
- Worst Plane

Most Broken: Ki-84. I get shrekt every time I face one. Plus they get airstarts fucking everywhere.
Most OP Nation: America? F6F, B-17, F8F, Sabre? I haven't reach T5 yet, so I can't comment on it.
Worst Nation: Japan, just too few planes.
Most OP plane: I-16. Little bastards turn too quick to even get properly BnZed. I went into Duel against one in a Mk IX Spitfire, and still got fragged regularly, but that may be because I suck.
Worst Plane: Spitfire Mk Vc. It's a Spitfire that can't retain energy while turning. Just why?

Also keep in mind that the American 20mm is pretty damn strong. It compares pretty favorably to later Hispano variants.

IIRC the American 20mm is just a renamed Hispano.

Huh. You're right. It's basically the Hispano without the fixes that make the Hispano mkII and mkV work, except putting the cocking mechanism back in place.

You do understand that's the whole point of early spitfires? They're supposed to be able to burn ridiculous amounts of energy while turning without stalling so they can turn in tighter circles than their opponent.
But yeah, from what I've heard the Spitfire Mk Vc has pretty bad performance thanks to the added weight from the C-wings.

Actually good turn fighters retain more energy while turning than their counterparts.

"Good" is entirely dependent on the situation at hand. It's also very subjective; pilots of the Normandie-Niemen squad claimed that the Yak-3 is far superior to the latewar Spitfires. Other people might disagree on that, for their own peculiar reasons.
But the early Spitfires were ridiculously good at turning in tight circles, there's no denying that.

False. IIbs can go into a horizontal turn at basically any speed and retain it all.

Yeah, alright, that was a bit poorly worded on my part. It's possible to pull fairly tight turns with the early Spits without losing too much energy, but it's also capable of burning a good chunk of its energy by turning as tight as it can without the wings stalling.

So trying that Ki-61... 12.7mm Japanese API-T is pretty stronk. It kills planes a few seconds after a hit.

I hear american API-T is full OP mode.

edit: also i failed to kill or even HIT a Cobra in a headon with my duck. wow  :o

The American API-T is hellatrocious probably due to the sheer number of guns they carry on one plane.  I think the Hellcat is the first one to seriously stock up on those things, up to 8 on the Thunderbolt and no less than 4 on most 50cal US planes that aren't T1.

wow so apparently my heavy fighters die so easily now...

Duck, Dornier, Messer, they all died due to a few seconds of fire. One was a 37mm so i'm not complaining about that but it happened again then.

And then it happened again.

What is it, stealth nerf ?

Edit: Aaand now my dornier survived 25 seconds of fire and showed being tougher than I remember. What.

What is up with this game

edit 2 : And now I kill a plane, it doesn't even register. wut.
