The problem with german tanks is that most of the low tier ones have ammoracks behind the driver... and people generally shoot the driver viewports by instinct alone... and SUPRISE there's an ammorack there.

The low tier German tanks have no armor and pissy guns. Their Russian low tier counterparts have somewhat better armor and almost universally better guns. Once the Germans get long guns to match, though, they devastate the Russians until said Russians get their own long guns, at which point it becomes even-ish.

So yeah, already went through tier 1-2 German planes. Was particularly shitty. Never again please.

Well, with the notable exception of the S79, the He111 and the Ju87d5.

I disagree. Bf109 Emils are great, if you know how to fly them. He-112's are pretty scary for low-tier dogfighting, too. The later models have nice firepower and good performance.

Yeah, I actually developed a soft spot for the He-112B series. Decent flight performance and well-armed.

He51's.....the less said the better. As is true for most of the Italian stuff.

Though I had a harder time with the entry-tier American planes, except for the PBY (lolboat) and the P-40. When you get to the P-40, it's like "Oh thank God, a plane that can actually do something". The P-26s are nimble but have popguns. The P-36 has popguns AND it flies like a brick.

The Italian CR 42 biplane is actually really good. 

But yeah, Americans have a pretty rough time early on, worse than Germans I think.  Early on the .50s are scarce and when you have them they have shitty ammo racks.

But if you can survive that there's a lot of amazing shit.  I already mentioned the P47's loadout, I can't say enough about it.  It's fucking amazing and it feels so good to shoot.  There's nothing as awesome as catching a plane in a vertical stall and just hosing it down until you can't really call it a plane anymore.

Also I dunno if this has changed but American planes are all drastically undertiered since a lot of people play them and they're not easy to fly.  Lots of people flying mustangs and thunderbolts and bearcats in ways they were never meant to be flown and getting their battle rating lowered.

The P-40 used to be extraordinary. It's still undoubtedly a good plane even having been nerfed, but I go back to it now and find flying it extremely difficult.

The American planes in general are probably the favorites of War Thunder, though, especially the bombers.

Kinda a shame about the BRs of the Hellcat and the Thunderbolts. I'd fly them, but it's such a seal clubbing with them.

And the Marcolin premium one looks sooo slick. I mean it must be the coolest biplane of all.
