Damn the lag. Have anyone else with half-decent connection in other games met with regular problems in WB? I like the game but it's pretty annoying to get downed regularily by ping...

I had massive problems back around spring of this year with FPS and lag, but now it runs smooth for me. Might be some optimization guides out there.

Don't run into lag or FPS problems. I do occasionally get "blackouts" of several seconds, but that's gotten better. Once or twice I've just gotten disconnected entirely, but that's been rare.

I just had an incredible 12 kill match as Tier 5-7 US.  I think all the time I spent yesterday playing Germany and using the Ju87G-2 and the Japanese Ki-45 that only has the 15 shot 37mm helped me get better with aiming the 37mm, seeing as 8 of my kills were with one of my P39s.

I cannot wait to try the 57mm cannon on the Ki-102 otsu...

Or the 50mm on the HS129B-2. There was a very small run of an HS129 variant (the B-3, I believe) which mounted a 75mm BK gun. For comparison, that's the same muzzle bore as the main gun on a Sherman or a Panzer IV.  :o

I've gotten better with the German and UK stuff (tier 7 in both now), kinda stuck with US and JP at 6. Just not that enjoyable to fly them. And my Russian kit is getting too damn expensive to fly. I get one good mission in with my top-tier (10) Soviet stuff, then have to wait a few hours for it to repair.

Tier 7 is when the Germans start to get really good.

I've almost completely abandoned my upper tier Russians for the moment. When I fly my russians I fly 3 and under. It feels odd to be abandoning the Yak-9T and La-5 that I've heard so much complaining about but I just have no success there. I'm loving the American P-47s though, almost worth the whole grind up just for them. So versatile. UK and Japanese are still low, but I just unlocked the 1000kg bombs for the H6K, so maybe if someone else has heavy bombs we can fly high and bomb the base like I've seen people do recently. It does usually require 2 or 3 people to pull off though, unfortunately.

Currently playing with all sliders at max and experiencing zero lag or frame rate issues.

I'm still crap.

The only map where I have any success with Russians is that pacific map with the maze of caves, because they're great for the ambushy hit-and-run style of hunting in that mess.

I just had one of my best historical battles, i got 5 kills on the hardest day event (not a single AI plane) without dying AND flying against 3-4 fighters the whole time, considering the really low ammo load on the E3 i consider it a feat.

if anyone is planning to play over the next few hours and wants to try out the Leyte gulf battle event on the american side, let me know. I'd love to give it a try but all I've got are american fighters and they're probably going to be tough to use against zeroes without some team work.

I'm also up for trying anything else too.

EDIT: You know that feeling when you're in a bomber and 4 enemy planes all land on your runway to cap all at once... Yeah... that feeling. Also a 12 kill game in tier 7-8 planes on a 5x xp day...

Not really. As I said, it wasn't the greatest match I ever played. Couple of kills in an La-5, I think one in a Yak-9K and one in a Yak-3. Nothing pivotal. Made it back to base and repaired one time. Some ground kills and ship kills in a Peshka and an SB2. And for that, I received a railway car full of cash. Obviously Comrade Stalin was pleased.  :P

Battle Trophies are more or less random.

Yeah, random. I was happy with a 100k trophy I got earlier today... you won the lottery, I think.
