I am suddenly aware of my salivary glands.
« on: February 25, 2013, 03:32:40 am »

It's really quite odd. The two submandibular salivary glands in my mouth have become very apparent to me today. I'm not really sure what's causing it, but I also seem to be salivating from them a bit more than usual. (And definitely more than the sublingual or parotid.) Any idea what would cause this, Bay12?

(I don't think a slight excess of saliva is anything close to a good cause for a trip to the hospital. If I'm wrong, by all means tell me so.)

I can't offer any advice, but that is the best thread title I have seen in a long time.

I have this every once in a while. Eat something really good or expose yourself to something very distracting.

I suspect you are turning in to a werewolf.

Try chewing on the family-best cutlery and report back if you get any odd sensations.

Did you read "you are now salivating manually" somewhere? That always does it for me.

This is normal I think man, when I was small I didn't notice my salivary glands, and then *BOOM* one day I starting salivating ALOT and i've been like that ever since.

Well, I tried this one out first.

Didn't feel much from it, but then it's not real silver. (I'm starting to doubt it's even steel!)

Probably catching a cold.
Maybe, but I just recovered from the flu. I really hope I'm not already sick again.

I'm not really sure how to do that, but I did in fact salivate while reading this post.

I have this every once in a while. Eat something really good or expose yourself to something very distracting.
Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffin appeared to provide temporarily relief, if only due to the saliva going to some digestive use. I'll try to find another distraction next. Perhaps a handstand is in order.

The investigation continues.

Relief at last! It simply stopped after a few days. I suppose that's it for the thread, then. Thank you all for your help.
