The orderly from before steps inside without knocking, and this time he's wearing combat armour. You try to protest but he's too busy pulling you along and shouting orders into the radio at his back. Another man meets the two of you in the hangar, and shoves a pistol and a black jumpsuit into your arms before saluting you and dragging you to a helicopter and tossing you inside along with seven others dressed in white suits. You turn around to go out when the woman at the door tosses you a gold coloured armband and points at her upper right arm, slamming the hatch behind her. You slip on the jumpsuit and pull the band over your right arm, placing the pistol into the built-in holster at your hip. You look at the others and they look back, seeming just as confused as you are, and curious about your differently coloured outfit. One of them steps forward, apparently assuming that you know what is going on, when the helicopter lurches, cutting him off. You take a seat and strap in.
IamanElfCollaboratorLance leads you down to the hangar. He shows you two different aircraft and one ground vehicle.
So you've got the standard jet and heli configurations here, as well as one of our specialised armoured tanks over the-The hangar turns red, alarms blare, and the people around you spring into action. Lance grimaces and grabs an orange jumpsuit from a nearby rack.
Put this on, quickly. And take my helmet. Grab whichever vehicle you're already suited to. The others will take whatever is left over. Quickly now! We haven't much time!You see a squad of heavily armed troopers rushing into the transport, a triple-blade helicopter with chainguns and covered in what looks to be sensor equipment, and a gaggle of battle armoured crewmen scrambling into compartments on either side of the treaded ground vehicle, which seems to be a Main Battle Tank with some sort of passenger compartment inside of it. A pilot pulls himself up and into the rear seat of the jet fighter and begins performing system checks.
Remaining PlayersA klaxon sounds and the flourescent lights above you change colour, painting the room a deep red hue. Lieutenant Wesley bursts into the room, quite a bit more stern than you remember her being.
We've got trouble! Move it! What the fuck is this? Why aren't you morons in uniform yet? Get your suits on and grab your weapons, we're on the move!She waits just long enough for all of you to pull the white jumpsuits over your clothing and grab the sidearms before leading you in a dead run down to the armoury. Personnel sprint past, rushing to their tasks. She leads you inside and pulls open a shutter, revealing a wide array of weaponry. She hands each of you a harness that you immediately clip on before throwing you each your gear:
O'Bryan gets: a submachine gun, and a bandolier with a dozen frag grenades
Fred gets: a rifle, and a backpack filled with ammo
John gets: a backpack radio, a carbine, a purple smoke grenade
"For CAS. Use it and get out quick. Only for emergencies.", and two standard smoke grenades
Andy gets: an assault rifle, and a high-explosive satchel along with a detonator
George gets: a medium machine gun, one belt of mmg ammo, a medikit, and a shotgun
Kyle gets: a shotgun, two belts of mmg ammo, a tripod, and a "knife" hung from a special belt
More like a short sword..Vivienne gets: a ground radar device (a deployable dish, a viewing screen, and a battery all told, contained within a backpack. the viewing screen is visible on the outside of the pack and can be turned on and off)
She checks to see you're all sorted out before leading the way to a large hangar and onto a triple blade helicopter transport.
"Good luck." she says, before shoving in an eighth man and shutting the door behind you. The interior is long and cavernous with plenty of room to move around, and has exactly 12 seats, six on either side, near the entrance to the cockpit. There's plenty of space between the motorised ramp that is the rear of the vehicle and the door leading to the pilot's compartment, and the walls and floor are littered with clips and loops for strapping down cargo. You wager you could fit a large car and one smaller one in here and still have enough room to run a footrace. The ground shakes as the chopper is moved into place, and you all move to find a seat.
