This is basically a world building thread on gods. In the beginning there was one god: Ryneth. Now, you all come up with the descendants of Ryneth and their exploits. For example: "From Fr'naer, child of Ryneth and Gh'oti, the 3 Dysprian gods sprang forth: Crimosh, Sgribon, and Romnesh. These 3 would go onto slay their cousins the Slaveshian gods and themselves be killed by the Crymethian gods."
Stuff like that.

And Ryneth slept a deep sleep in the void, and so came he to dream of things that were not as yet, and from that dream sprang the goat-headed mother goddess Baagrun, whereat Ryneth grew exceeding lustful.

And from the dreams of Ryneth sprung Alharz, Prince of the Somnic Realms, and god of dreams. So Ryneth saw a figure in many colours, surveying him, for he was the only dreaming creature yet.

And Ryneth and Baagrun did copulate with great fury, yea, till Baagrun's heart was brast apart from the exertions thereof. And as Baagrun fell lifeless into the void, her flesh filled the void and made the firmament, the good earth. And the seed of Ryneth did spew across the surface of Baagrun, and it was life.

(Nice way to go. ;) )

And so life dreamt, and Alharz, great with happiness, explored their dreams and gained power from his domain. With this new power, he created the Alharzoi, life in his image, a man with many colors, and they explored the world, gaining his ability to dreamwalk, albeit when asleep, lest they attempt to usurp the Prince of the Somnic Realm.

But Alharzoi was lonely.

Meanwhile, the One Who Is Not Ryneth, a god from outside this universe, chanced across this universe and saw the state it was in. He made Iozrahla, the first woman, and sent her wandering the earth. The OWINR told Alharzo about this wman and told him to find her and serve her, and to bear many daughters and sons.

Misunderstood, sorry

The Alzharoi grew tired of Alzharz's limiting of their powers, and seeking to gain power over him dreamwalked into the minds of many others. These others saw the Alzharoi as gods, and one in particular drew strength from this. He ascended, becoming known as Silath, the god of tricksters.

Alharz, disgusted by their disgrace of his gift, set upon them an ultimatum. Either cease attempting to usurp him or risk being locked from the Somnic Realm.

Silath agreed, and in way of apology, gifted Alharz with a pendant of purest emerald.
However, when Alharz put the pendant on, he found that he could not remove it, and that he was unable to see the Alharzoi, who continued as before, enjoying their newfound worship.

Alharz simply walked into the Somnic Realm, and banished all of the Alharzoi from it, preventing them from dreaming or dreamwalking, leaving them with nothing but a void upon sleep.

He then went to Silath, and cursed him to dream of a world where trickery did not exist, every single day, for his trickery, and sealed him off from the rest of the Somnic Realm, before sealing himself in a stone tomb, mourning the loss of the children he had granted the power to dreamwalk.

Silath, dismayed at these dreams, used his waking moments to speak to a mortal, of the race called Harzi who were flourishing on the planet.
He told him of a stone tomb, wherin lay great power for whoever found it, and let the legend proliferate throughout the Harzi.

Alharz lay, sorrowful in the tomb. The Somnic Realm was now only open to all who did not hate him, and he did not understand why his children had rebelled against him, even after the gift of dreamwalking was given.

The Alharzoi, meanwhile, deprived of their link to the Somnic Realm, slowly died. They were borne of the Realm, and without their access to the Somnic Realm, were dying. But they did not repent.

And, from the rumours, lies, and myths spread, rose a new god. Ama-lo-Zibara, god of the concealing mist, and god of rumours, myths, and lies. He thrived on the legend of the Tomb of Dreams, and went to Silath, seeing a kindred spirit.

Amo-lo-Zibara approached Silath, and they struck lies and deceit throughout the world. But some mortals saw through them, and preached a new faith, one which was spun on ideals of honesty and respect. From these rose forth Hadrac, the god of Justice and Tradition.
The Alharzoi, long abandoned by both their creator and those they had helped to ascend, desired to put aside their past. They turned to Hadrac, and pledged their allegiance to him in return for a form of stasis, in which they remained, untouched by time, unless others would speak with them. Hadrac granted them this, in a desire to cleanse the world of the veil of treachery which currently lay upon it.
