SOLVED: OSX Retina Resolution
« on: February 23, 2013, 09:37:44 pm »

I just downloaded DF for OSX for the first time on a MacBook Pro w/ retina.  When I start df, the resolution is tiny (640x480), and even if I maximize the window the actual game screen is only a quarter of the screen.  I am guessing this has something to do with the detected resolution and such.

Anyone have experience running DF on a retina display?

This probably won't help and you probably already did this. But did you press F11 or did you hit the button? Not sure if it makes a difference. Ill look around and try to find a better answer though.

Thanks for the fast reply.  F11 on the mac makes all the windows retract and show the desktop, so no that didn't help.

Make sure DF is closed.
Go to Data\init.txt in your DF folder. Find something similar to: [PRINT_MODE: 2D]
Change that to: [PRINT_MODE: STANDARD]
If that doesn't work make sure that truetype is off.
Save and then open up DF. Report back what happens. F11 should also work now and put it in fullscreen mode.

Changing the PRINT_MODE to STANDARD did the trick!  Thank you!

I had the same problem, and this solution worked for me -- only difference is that the init file was located at data/init/init.txt
