[Immortal]

"This is an emergency broadcast. Please continue to listen for updates and information." A radio in the corner of the room is on low volume. You have all been sitting here for only a little while after the siren started. It was supposed to be a warning the virus has hit the city, but hell did that ever go off late..

The ten of you were being escorted out of the city, sitting in the back of army truck when it happened. The driver began flailing wildly in his seat belt and vomiting blood onto the windshield. The damn soldiers were supposed to be screened before they were sent into population centres, but obviously the government failed at that too. The soldier riding shotgun was already being choked and bit, that sure didn't help stop the truck from driving down into a fountain. With the rest of the convoy pulling over to correct the situation, it was clear everyone was in the same boat. "Everyone out!" The soldiers yelled and threw you into the water and everyone scrambled and sprinted for the nearest building. Some overly fancy ten storey building with far to many steps leading to the entrance. One of you hit the elevator switch in a panic as a soldier read the floor plan. Looking back onto the street you could see several people flailing on the ground wildly. "Stairs! Go!" the soldier yelled and pointed just as a bloody mess flew into his arm and collided with him, knocking him with a thud into the wall. The last soldier with you began opening fire as several more came out of the stairwell. With the ding of the elevator you all piled in. Someone hit the close door button as the soldier kept firing between the closing doors. They closed and soon you were traveling to the tenth floor. Elevator music played as everyone panted trying to catch their breath.. and with another ding you arrived. No key.. You forced your way into the pent house suite. You all walked in cautiously. Soon after the suite was cleared the siren went off.

You all look around unsure of what to do, everyone seems uneasy, including the soldier. You take note of the room you're sitting in. Modern style, luxurious condo. From clearing the rooms it's known to have three bedrooms, a large kitchen, one and a half bathrooms, along with the main living room you're all currently sitting in.

You can all name the above people, feel free to give background info. Voters from OOC get firsts until my next post.
I'll track names and who has what, but this won't become specifics. I'm keeping it simple to allow more people and to keep it fun for me.
It would help if you all pick a real vocation to determine skills and stuff (Soldier is taken).

For turns you post what the group should do (which adds your character to the group and increases man power for that action)
or do something else (with others who agree or on your own splitting your man power). Hopefully that is clear.
If you all do separate actions only noticeable results get mentioned and with only one person doing it that's a small result.

Feel free to think outside the box on all turns. A turn can be as short as minutes to as long as a day or two.
My posting time will be around 6pm-10pm Toronto time(yes I'm Canadian)

Paramedic

Called to one for the houses in the early stages of the disease, before people knew what exactly was going on Michelle began to treat, being forced to run when the EMT basic she was working with was bitten and she had to club the walker to death with a brick when it trapped her in the back yard.

She became a paramedic because she can handle stressful situations well. She has lived her whole live in the city and likes to think of herself as metropolitan, having never shot a gun or camped a day in her life. Has a habit of idly biting her nails when stressed.

Turn One

After some time passes Carl stands up and walks to the window. "Guys! Come here!" Carl shouts. Everyone peers down into the street below seeing a large group of people moving out of the trucks and into the building across the street. "We can't just sit here forever." Carl finishes. He looks around at the people beside him at the glass.

So what are you going to do?

Some say that Alice was destined for nothing but an average life of chasing desires she'd never get. And, in some respects, people were right. She never was much one for work, unless it was for money she'd blow on her hobbies (videogames, books, knockoff swords). Still mostly a kid at heart, she's genuinely afraid but acts aloof to the chaos of the outbreak. She still holds hope that life will return to normal, some day.

She's played a lot of videogames, and she's actually very fast to react and can make crucial decisions without hesitation- even morally difficult ones should the need arise. The sick feeling afterwards isn't something she can dodge, however.

She has an idea of how to use most weapons and can identify more common guns on sight- however, she's inexperienced with the kick and sound of a real gun.

She has good intrapersonal skills and is a good talker. Empathetic and innocent, she's more valuable than what she'd first seem to be.

Question the need to follow the others, but go along with it if the group does so.

"I beg to differ! I don't see an army here. What are we just gonna walk out the front door? Have you seen how many grey there are out there just waiting to catch our scent!? Or did you not get a look out the back of the truck. We had a crowd literally chasing after us! Find a better exit or we are going to take our chances at holing up for a night."

Gordon, typically a man of few words, spoke up.

"I more or less agree. If possible, we should try to get out of urban areas ASAP. Cities are full of hiding places for zombies and, more importantly, zombies. They have next to nothing to muffle footsteps, hazards from fires to explosions, and horribly constrained terrain for anyone trying to get around."

Michelle turns to gordon with a mean grin "Zombies? Watch a lot of horror flicks? They are called GREY. They were humans once. *scoff*"

She then gets a few breaths in and returns to speaking in less of a flurry and quite a bit calmer "But yeah. Look, I think, I think I saw a fire escape round back on the way up here. I bet if we cracked one of these apartment doors on one of the lower levels we could get onto it and survey the area as well as make a quiet and out of the way escape. If we use alleys and rooftops we should be able to make some distance. Sorry about the bitchy mood. Haven't eaten in days."

Michelle then holds her stomach and give a weak smile.

"Ah. I know the feeling... I guess leaving wouldn't be so bad, if we could get something to eat..."

"They used to be human. Jesus used to be a carpenter. Hitler used to be a failing artist. It doesn't matter what they were, only what they are and what they'll do to you. Sugar-coat it how you will, the dead walk.

"So. Who wants to do some recon? I will if no one else wants to. Actually, we should probably take two or three to the roof, just in case."
