« on: February 20, 2013, 08:04:49 pm »

The Mojam is back for 3 days of coding. Feb 20-23 2013
http://www.humblebundle.com/

The contenders are:
Mojang
Wolfire
Vlambeer
Oxeye
Grapefrukt
Ludosity

Mojang seems to be making 3 games.

It looks like "nuclear" is the theme for most.

I have the oddest feeling that there'll be at least three 2D side scrolling "Retro" games released in this bundle.

Aubrey from Wolfire is working to the Superbrothers Sword and Sworcery soundtrack right now. A good choice.

Somehow I doubt that there is much point to buying anything made with a 72 hour deadline. But hey! You never know. Maybe they'll code, uh, nuclear kitten space duels in the style of star control 1 or something. Really quickly.

Hm.. that. That indeed. Not really substantive, but that's keeping in the theme of things I suppose.

It's a charity thing with bonus games. That said, given the themes they're working with, I'm excited.

Mojang's Striped Zebra team is making a French Nuclear Spaceship game.
The Giraff Macka team at Mojang will be basing their game around Endless Nuclear Kittens.
Mojang's Cyborg Hippo team is using a Nuclear Pizza War theme.
Wolfire will be making a Nuclear Endless War themed game.
Vlamber's game will be themed around Wasteland Kings.
Ludosity will be using a Interplanetary Void theme.

Just like the last Mojam bundle it's less to do with the finished product and more to do with the actual creative process.
It can be quite interesting to watch the live stream of people making a game, working on all the different elements. If you're not interested in this and are more interested in getting some great games then it will mostly likely not be the bundle for you - something I completely understand. I missed most of the live streaming last time.

Most likely Wolfire will bundle their game in with Overgrowth purchases and might clean it up after the 72 hours is up.

The only people I expect to make a decent game in a few days is Wolfire, who already showed they could make an interesting game in a short time span with Receiver. I honestly expect Mojang to work on their games for one day, and then take the second and third day off as a well deserved vacation.
